  • Description

    Description

We're a family with four lively children in a large half-timbered house in the hills of the Wendland, surrounded by forest, meadows and plenty of nature. You'd have your own room and become part of everyday family life — kids, garden and house. The region is livelier than it looks, with a strong local culture, and there's also the option of working some hours in a café nearby.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You'd be living with us, not next to us — meals together, cooking with the kids, evenings around the table, and whatever the week happens to throw at us. The Wendland has a lively scene of village festivals, open studios and concerts, including the Kulturelle Landpartie each spring, and we're happy to take you along and introduce you to friends and neighbours. Depending on your interests, there's a lot to pick up here: traditional half-timber restoration and old building crafts, practical nature conservation work, gardening, cooking, and everyday German if you want to practise. On our side, we simply enjoy having someone new in the house — hearing how family life, food and work look somewhere else, and letting our children grow up knowing that the world is bigger than our village.

  • Help

    Help

Mainly household support, looking after the children and cooking with us. That means the usual everyday things — tidying, laundry, keeping an eye on the kids, picking them up, preparing meals together. Around 4–5 hours a day, five days a week, with weekends mostly free. No experience needed, just reliability and a warm way with children.

    Accommodation

You'll have your own comfortable room with a private bathroom, a proper bed and a beautiful view over the green — fields, trees and open sky. Fast, reliable internet throughout the house, so staying in touch with home or working online is no problem. All meals are included: we cook and eat together as a family, mostly fresh and homemade, and we're happy to adapt to vegetarian or other dietary preferences. You're welcome to use the kitchen yourself and to cook something from your own country whenever you like.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We're a non-smoking household — ideally you don't smoke at all. The only other thing we care about is phones: please keep phone use to a minimum when you're with the children. Beyond that we're pretty relaxed. We live a normal, busy family life with an open door, and as long as you're reliable and honest with us, you'll have a lot of freedom here.
