Description
We live on seven acres of mostly woodland in Camp , a beautiful part of Co Kerry Ireland .
We are a couple in our 60’s. Our two daughters live away and our son Eoghan lives ia few kilometres away . He is a young man with ‘complex additional needs’ and lives with full time support.
Where we live is an old house .
The landscape is beautiful.
We are trying to reclaim our vegetable garden from our accidental rewilding. We also have an polytunnel and two donkeys .
We have recently opened the woodland area and are developing paths through it . It is called Eoghan’s Woods, Coill Eoghain ,and we are hoping to further develop it as an open and inclusive space for the community.
The house is 2km from a very friendly village with some lovely pubs and less than 3km from some lovely beaches . There are lots of opportunities for hillwalking and surfing in the area though transport can be a challenge.
It would be suitable for a couple or someone on their own who is independent and doesn’t mind managing on their own.
Ideally also they would like working outdoors and be physically strong.
It would be great if they already had skills in relation to working with wood.
If they had a full driver’s licence and over 25 we might be able to facilitate them with the use of a car , otherwise a bicycle. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Travellers could learn lots about Irish rural life . They could also learn both English and Irish.
They could also gain experience of a project of inclusive community living. -
Help
All kinds of help would be useful - timber tasks, and helping us with maintenance of the house and garden -both at our own house and at Eoghan's.

Accommodation
We are offering a spare room in our house This is downstairs and has an outside door. It has a double sofa bed. It is beside a bathroom which is shared but not the main bathroom of the house .
We usually share an evening meal but not always and we would expect workaways to be able to cook for themselves from a well stocked kitchen and to share in communal meal preparation. -
What else ...
The mountains and the beaches are in walking distance (not the surf ones ) . There is a bus from the village (2km) that goes 6+ times daily to Tralee (30min) or Dingle ( 45min). Some of the roads are good for cycling but in general they are narrow and have little or no provision for cyclists . Dingle is lively town and great to visit with lots of live music and is an hour away by bus.
Workaways who are over 25 years old and have a valid driver licence may have use of a car. -
