Description
Hello! I’m Enes, and together with my wife Sinem (who’s 39), we are a famıly new to the Workaway experıence. We live in a lovely home with a beautiful garden just 10 minutes away from Yalova’s city center in Turkey. Our place is surrounded by nature and close to a forest, so it’s perfect if you enjoy fresh air and tranquility. We love going for bike rides, gardening, and learning new skills—like using a 3D printer! We also share our home with our friendly dog, who adores spending time in the garden.
Both Sinem and I are science teachers who are really passionate about education and learning. We have two wonderful children, Bala (6) and Alp (4). They’re both full of energy and curiosity! We’re looking for a Workawayer who can help us with gardening, some light housework, and most importantly, spending quality time with our kids—ideally communicating with them in English to help them learn in a fun, interactive way.
By staying with us, you’ll get to experience Turkish culture (including plenty of delicious local meals!) and gain hands-on experience in gardening and sustainable living. You’ll have your own private room here in our home, and you’ll be part of a warm, welcoming family atmosphere.
If you enjoy nature, kids, and cultural exchange, we’d be thrilled to welcome you into our family!Types of help and learning opportunities

Staying with us offers a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and meaningful connections. As a family, we love to include our guests in social activities like family meals, nature walks, and even visits to my school, where I work as a teacher. If you're interested, you can meet my students and experience a bit of the local education system.
We are happy to share our skills and knowledge with you, such as cooking traditional Turkish dishes, gardening, and even working with a 3D printer. You'll also get insights into local cultural traditions and everyday life in Turkey.
Hosting people from different cultures is exciting for us, as we love to learn new recipes, practice languages, and explore the unique customs and habits of our guests. We believe cultural exchange enriches everyone involved and creates lasting memories!Help
We typically ask for around 4 hours of help per day, Monday through Friday. This time is divided into 2 hours of light household tasks—like tidying up, doing laundry, or helping with meal prep—and 2 hours of spending quality time with our children, engaging them in English through fun activities, games, or simple conversations. We do not require any help on weekends, so you’re free to rest, explore the area, or enjoy your own interests during that time.

We have a private room with a double sofa bed available for you. Please note that our internet speed is relatively slow, though sufficient for basic browsing. We do not smoke, and we kindly ask any guests who do to smoke only in the garden. Our children usually go to bed around 9:00 PM, so we appreciate keeping things quieter after that time. You’ll be sharing the bathroom and kitchen with us, and we’ll do our best to ensure you’re comfortable throughout your stay.
What else ...
During your time off, there are plenty of exciting places to explore nearby. Within an hour's reach, you can visit the vibrant cities of Istanbul and Bursa, each offering rich cultural and historical experiences. Just 15 minutes away from our home, you’ll find the famous Yalova thermal springs, perfect for a relaxing day.
Yalova itself is a charming coastal city with natural attractions, walking paths, and waterfalls. Public transportation is very convenient, with minibuses passing right in front of our house every 10 minutes. It takes only 20 minutes to get to the city center.
At home, there are a few house rules to keep in mind. Smoking is not allowed inside, and while we enjoy listening to music, we prefer to keep the atmosphere relaxed after 9:00 PM as our children go to bed at that time.
We believe you’ll love the combination of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and a warm family environment during your stay with us!A little more information
