    Description

    Hello there!

I’m Enes. My wife, Sinem, and I (we are both 40) live in Yalova, Turkey. Our home is a lovely spot with a beautiful garden, just 10 minutes from the city centre. We're surrounded by nature and close to a forest, so it's perfect if you enjoy fresh air and tranquillity.

We love cycling, gardening, and learning new skills—like using our 3D printer! We also have a very friendly dog, Tarçın, who lives outside in our garden. He is very sociable and loves company, but does not come into the house (which may be helpful for guests with allergies).

We are both science teachers and are really passionate about education and learning. We have two wonderful children: our 7-year-old daughter, Bala, and our 5-year-old son, Alp. They’re both full of energy and curiosity!

We are looking for a Workawayer who can help us with a bit of gardening, some light housework, and most importantly, spend quality time with our children, helping them learn and interact in English in a fun, natural way.

By staying with us, you’ll get to experience authentic Turkish culture (including plenty of delicious local meals!) and gain hands-on experience in gardening. You’ll have your own private room in our home and be part of our warm, welcoming family.

If you enjoy nature, children, and cultural exchange, we’d be thrilled to welcome you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us offers a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and meaningful connections. As a family, we love to include our guests in social activities like family meals, nature walks, and even visits to my school, where I work as a teacher. If you're interested, you can meet my students and experience a bit of the local education system.

We are happy to share our skills and knowledge with you, such as cooking traditional Turkish dishes, gardening, and even working with a 3D printer. You'll also get insights into local cultural traditions and everyday life in Turkey.

Hosting people from different cultures is exciting for us, as we love to learn new recipes, practice languages, and explore the unique customs and habits of our guests. We believe cultural exchange enriches everyone involved and creates lasting memories!

We typically ask for around 4 hours of help per day, Monday to Friday.

    This time is generally split:

2 hours of spending quality time with our children. We'd love for you to engage Bala (7) and Alp (5) in English through fun activities, games, or simple conversation. The goal is immersion and fun, not formal teaching!

2 hours of light household tasks. This might include tidying up the common areas, helping with laundry, or assisting with meal preparation (we'd love to learn a recipe from your home country!).

Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are always free. This is your time to rest, explore the local area, or perhaps take a trip to nearby Istanbul or Bursa.

You will have your own private room in our home, which has a comfortable double sofa bed.

You will be sharing the main bathroom and kitchen with us, just like part of the family.

A few important things to note about our home:

Internet: Our internet access is a bit slow. It's perfectly fine for basic browsing, checking emails, or messaging, but may not be suitable for streaming high-definition video or large downloads.

Smoking: We are a non-smoking family. If you do smoke, we kindly ask that you only do so outside in the garden.

Quiet Time: Our children usually go to bed around 9 PM (21:00). We appreciate keeping the house quieter after this time to help them settle.

We'll do our best to make sure you feel comfortable and at home throughout your stay!

During your time off, there are plenty of exciting places to explore nearby. Within an hour's reach, you can visit the vibrant cities of Istanbul and Bursa, each offering rich cultural and historical experiences. Just 15 minutes away from our home, you’ll find the famous Yalova thermal springs, perfect for a relaxing day.

Yalova itself is a charming coastal city with natural attractions, walking paths, and waterfalls. Public transportation is very convenient, with minibuses passing right in front of our house every 10 minutes. It takes only 20 minutes to get to the city center.

At home, there are a few house rules to keep in mind. Smoking is not allowed inside, and while we enjoy listening to music, we prefer to keep the atmosphere relaxed after 9:00 PM as our children go to bed at that time.

We believe you’ll love the combination of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and a warm family environment during your stay with us!
