Description
Hello everyone,

I’m Gina (31) from Germany. A solo traveler who loves to truly experience new countries and cultures in an authentic way.

My journey began in January 2022, and since then the world has become my home. I travel slowly, with curiosity in my backpack and a deep love for meaningful connections. I’m always looking for places where I can stay for a while, help out, learn something new, and truly experience daily life beyond the tourist bubble.

I have a big heart for animals, feel most alive in nature, and love getting my hands dirty while learning new skills. Whether it’s helping on a farm, supporting animal welfare projects, working with guests, or assisting in creative or hands-on jobs. I’m open, motivated, and reliable.

So far, my path has taken me through Tanzania, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, Cambodia, and Japan. Last year, I also completed a several-month hike from Germany through Belgium, France, and Spain, finishing in Santiago de Compostela.

Right now, I’m in Cape Verde, where I’ll be staying for about a month, supporting a company that runs sailing boat tours. After that, I plan to continue my journey through South America, Canada, and beyond. Always guided by opportunities, people, and places that feel right.

Through Workaway, I’ve gained experience in many different fields:
– Guest and horse safari farm in South Africa
– Animal shelters in Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the Philippines
– Water sports center and hostel in Malaysia
– Horse farm and hotel in Laos
– Construction and hospitality in Australia

Back in Germany, I trained as a hairdresser, and later studied social work, to work in child and youth welfare. This background has shaped the way I work with people. Empathetic, responsible, and hands-on.

In addition, I have experience in social media, photography, and video editing, and I love documenting stories, places, and projects in an authentic way.

I trained as a hairdresser but then studied social work. Most recently, I worked in outpatient and inpatient child and youth welfare. I also have experience in gastronomy, sales and service. I'm not afraid of hard work and I'm always happy to learn new things.

I had my own horse for many years and have been riding all my life.
In my free time I like to go horseback riding or hiking, meet friends, sing, dance and learn new things.

I spent three wonderful weeks in Vang Vieng. My job was mostly to take care of the ponies, do pony rides with children and keep the stable, paddock and equipment clean.
