Hello there!

Libby and Mark here! We are a creative and happy couple living in Alaro on the magical island of Mallorca.

My area of specialty is nervous system regulation. I have an online course and offer coaching in person and through my website. I enjoy making videos and digital content and learning more about the opportunities the digital world has for us to expand into and create in!
I love learning from others, so would be really excited to share common interests.
I use my voice a lot in my practices, singing and guiding meditations.

Mark is a boat builder and enjoys dinghy sailing and competing. He loves his vinyl and has an impressive collection!

We have an adorable female Spanish Water dog called Luna and 1 cat called Lexi. Your help may be needed to take care of the pets when we are busy or not at home.

Digital nomads are welcome. We love meeting people who are living life in new and exciting ways!

We are flexible and fun professional people. We love positive people that want to help, share and enjoy getting things done.

We have a beautiful private casita with mini-kitchen and bathroom and also extra bedrooms in the main house, with a second outdoor covered kitchen and dining area. there is another dining and lounge area out by the pool.

Large private casita with own mini-kitchen and dining area and en-suite bathroom. Plus additional guest rooms inside the main house.

The casita also doubles as my art studio, and still has canvasses and art materials stored there....you can use if you are into painting!

The house is located 10 minutes walk into the centre of Alaro.

We do have 2 great E-bikes, which are available for use with care and responsibility.

There are regular busses and trains to Palma, so we are well connected for exploring the island by public transport.

This was my first workaway experience and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have spent 3 and a half weeks with Libby and her children, Leo and Poppy! I started the workaway by myself and then my best friend joined me for the rest of the time.

Location and accommodation: The house is located in Sóller, an absolutely beautiful area… read more surrounded by mountains. It's close enough to the centre that you can walk to and from. Libby also has a bicycle you can borrow and also we were able to use one of her cars to explore the island on our days off. You have your own bedroom and share use of the rest of the house, including the kitchen. The yard is full of orange trees and we often had freshly squeezed orange juice in the mornings :)

Food: Libby paid for and provided the majority of our food which was absolutely wonderful. If we wanted something particular or something that the rest of the family didn't eat, we paid for it. We also paid for wine or beer. Libby has a somewhat specific diet so we tried to be as respectful as possible to not eating/finishing the foods she can eat. Good idea to talk to her about that at the beginning of your stay!

The work: It varied greatly from day to day, but there were regular tasks such as dishes, laundry, meal prep and general tidying up of the house. In addition, we often would either drive the kids to school or pick them up (approximately 30-45 minutes from the house). Libby also manages several rental properties in the nearby towns of Deia and the Port of Sóller. We helped cleaning the properties a few times. I would suggest asking Libby for clear direction and her expectations beforehand. Otherwise, there were always odd jobs or projects around the house to be done. For example, clearing out and cleaning the shed, weeding the patio, helping with the animals (rabbits and rats), cleaning the house (weekly), etc. The schedule is not regimented so you might do something in the morning and then have the afternoon quiet and then go pick up the kids in the afternoon/take the kids to lessons, etc. Unexpected things may come up as well so it's important to be flexible!

The family: Leo and Poppy are wonderful children. We spent a lot of time with the kids and they are talkative, energetic, joyous and smart! They are kids, though! They do have their moments, but that's to be expected. Leo is learning the guitar and he's absolutely fantastic. Poppy is a little upcoming artist! Libby is burst of energy and love. She is incredibly compassionate and works hard to make everyone around her happy. She's a busy, busy single mom so naturally there are times she is under a lot of stress. We did our best to try and receive that as much as possible just by helping with the kids or alleviate any extra stressors.

Overall: I would HIGHLY recommend this workaway. The family is absolutely beautiful in so many ways and we felt like part of the family immediately. Libby invited us to take part in family activities or go into town with her. We visited art exhibitions, met many of her friends, visited nearby beaches and towns, and more! If you have the opportunity to spend some time with Libby and her kids, please do!
