    Description

Hi workawayers! I’m Dougie, a professional musician living in the beautiful countryside of west cork.
I’m a very chilled out guy and love to laugh about silly stuff/ talk science/ art. My place is in the heart of the west corkian wild whilst being close to Schull which can be a bit of a party town too! My house is a short walk to the beach where I have kayaks which it’s great for exploring the local islands and caves.

I need lots of help with my ambulance conversion Campervan project as well as garden maintenance.
The jobs will be different every day.
I also cook rather yummy food (though I say it myself) so we can team up on cooking duties.

The local town is full of very lovely people! There are often fun events like festivals/ regattas just up the road! I speak fluent English and French with some Spanish. I would love to practice my Spanish with you!
I can share my skills in music, cooking, and permaculture. I also dabble in electronic projects. If you like these things then this is the place for you!

You would be staying in my house in Altar, Cork. It is a beautiful old Irish cottage (approximately 200 years old). You can just about see the sea from the living room window. It is a 7 minute walk to the nearest very beautiful beach.
You would be staying in the spare bedroom with a single bed. It can fit a couple at a squeeze but ideally one person. There is a shared bathroom right next to the room. The kitchen is basic but does the job.

The garden is huge and has lots of fruit trees and vegetable. It needs lots of work which is part of why I need your help! There is a beautiful forest at the end of the property and there are a few old ruined cottages dotted around.

There are magnificent walks and kayak adventures just around the corner.
I can lend you bikes if you need too!

    What else ...

West cork is extremely beautiful and fun in the summer. It is paradise when the sun shines!
I have a friend around the corner who hosts Workaways too so sometimes we might eat and drink together.
If you play music then I would love to jam! I have lots of instruments :)
