  Description

  We live in a beautiful coastal rainforest in British Columbia, Canada and love to share our piece of wilderness paradise. A couple with a love of travel and the outdoors (and dogs!). We just moved to Bowen Island on 3 acres and would love to share the experience of setting up the land for new gardens, clearing dead trees, building out hiking trails and we have plans to build an outdoor sauna and some new decks too (in Springtime)! We back onto a nature reserve with seemingly endless trails off the property forest for you to explore, as well as over 30 beaches across Island. We love to cook from scratch (mostly vegetarian), bake sourdough bread, sprout microgreens, grow edible mushrooms and ferment all sorts of things in the kitchen as well - wed love to share meals and our joy of cooking. We are looking for help keeping up with the daily household things and the greater outdoor jobs of keeping up with land, let us know if you'd like to come join us for a work-a-way stay!

  We speak English and German (and would love to learn more Spanish!), our home is set amidst a nature reserve and protected land with vast opportunity to learn and explore Canadian outdoors. We forage in summer, exploring the ocean and lands surrounding us.

  Help

  We love that we live in a rainforest, but that also brings a lot of work! We can always use help with outdoor property/garden things (tree clean up, firewood prep etc.) as well as general household upkeep projects (painting, carpentry, cleaning etc.). We are setting up some mushroom growing areas, planning out the gardens and Spring projects, building out hiking trails etc. If you have a love or skill you'd like to share or something you'd like to learn, please let us know!

  Private bedroom, camper trailer or tent in the forest if you'd like - your choice!
  We love to bake sourdough and cook meals from scratch, but do not always sit down for dinner. Ideally anyone coming would love to share meals, but able to be self-sufficient as well for meal prep - the kitchen is open for use anytime.

  We are flexible for times, so happy to chat over any length of stay. We have small hypoallergenic dogs, and may also be caring for our friend's two cats - so note that if allergies.

  Cell service is limited in some areas in the house and property, but internet is fast.

  We have a 16' camper ourselves and would offer that space for yours - larger campers would not likely fit, so please check with us for size and we can see.
