Description
Come Live, Learn, Work, and Play at the Beautiful Wildlife Ecolodge!
Immerse yourself in nature and experience life in harmony with the jungle at our vibrant ecolodge. Nestled in the lush Caribbean rainforest, our sanctuary is surrounded by wildlife and thriving biodiversity. From butterflies and frogs to iguanas, monkeys, every day is a chance to connect deeply with the natural world.
We began as an agroecology project grounded in permaculture principles, cultivating a flourishing garden of fruit trees, vegetables, medicinal herbs, and vibrant flowers. Our mission is to revive and celebrate the traditional plants and culture of the Caribbean, and we invite volunteers to help us nurture this living legacy.
Our small, eco-friendly hotel offers a unique and enriching opportunity for volunteers. It's not just the stunning location and natural beauty that make it special—it's the laid-back, culturally rich, and joyful atmosphere that sets us apart.
We’re currently looking for someone to help in a receptionist-style position. This role is perfect for someone who is:
Friendly, helpful, and presentable
Chatty and sociable (we love people who enjoy connecting with travelers!)
Fluent in English (Spanish is a bonus, but not required)
The work is easy and enjoyable, with plenty of downtime during quieter hours. If you're a digital nomad or have personal projects—whether that's remote work, studying Spanish, knitting, painting, or just reading a good book—you’ll have the space and time to pursue them here. We have fiber optic WiFi, so staying connected is no problem at all.
We ask for a minimum commitment of 2 months, as we're looking to build consistency and connection within our small team.
This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wants to truly experience Caribbean culture, not just pass through.
Come join us—slow down, settle in, and discover what it means to really live in this beautiful corner of the world.
Our ecolodge offers:
-Wildlife tours through the surrounding jungle
-Chocolate-making experiences
-Medicinal plant and spa retreats
-Educational opportunities to deepen your understanding of nature's wisdom
Located just a 5-minute walk from Playa Grande beach and 45 minutes by foot (or 8 minutes by car) from the charming town of Cahuita, our lodge offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility.

🌿 Reception Duties
Check-In Assistance
Guests usually arrive in the afternoon. Your role is to warmly welcome them, show them their room, and offer a friendly introduction to the space. We always ask guests to provide an estimated arrival time, so you won’t be waiting around all day—we’ll show you the ropes!
Check-Out Assistance
Equally simple: make sure the keys are returned, let the cleaning staff know the room is ready to be cleaned, and say a warm goodbye (our guests usually come find us to say farewell).
Training and support are provided—no previous experience is required, just a welcoming attitude and basic organizational skills.
🌺 Optional Volunteer Opportunities
If you'd like to contribute more or have a particular interest, we have additional creative and hands-on projects available:
🎨 Artists & Creatives
We’re building a self-guided tour through our permaculture gardens using hand-painted signs. You can help by:
Designing and painting wooden signs with plant names and information (especially medicinal uses)
Creating decorative or directional signs for guests around the property
Set your own schedule and let your creativity bloom!
📲 Marketing & Social Media
Help us grow our online presence! We’re looking for someone to:
Manage Instagram, Facebook, and website updates
Take and edit photos/videos for social media
Assist with graphic design, promotions, or even coordinating local tour bookings if interested
🌱 Garden & Permaculture Help
Join us in nurturing our lush gardens! Tasks include:
Landscaping and maintaining garden areas
Helping with planting and harvesting
Learning and applying permaculture principles
Experience is helpful but not required—enthusiasm and a love for nature are more important.
🏡 What We Offer
A laid-back, welcoming environment with a small team of 3 permanent staff
A strong sense of community and cultural immersion
Fast fiber optic WiFi—ideal for digital nomads or remote workers during your free time
The chance to stay longer, live like a local, and connect with travelers from all over the world
We do ask for a minimum 2-month commitment, so that you can truly settle in and become part of our jungle family.
If you're looking for more than just a stopover—if you want to live, learn, and grow in a meaningful way—this might just be the opportunity you're looking for.
Pura Vida and we hope to welcome you soon!Languages
