Description
Hi everyone, we are Elena and François, a Belgian/Spanish couple living in Menugoutte, a small village lost in the Belgian Ardenne. We have two children, and after traveling a lot, we are now finishing the construction of our family home and working on a new project: the building of a second Roulotte (a wooden trailer/tiny house).
Building our house has been our main focus for the past three years, as we wanted to create a home that aligns our ecological and human values. Before starting the house, we built our first Roulotte, to practice but also to host travelers, friends, and family. Now, thanks to the help of Workawayers, our house is almost finished, and we’re finishing the building a second Roulotte (two kids = two Roulottes :D). We’ve just placed the new roulotte 1.5 km from our home, on a nice place, deeply immersed in nature. The next step: setting up the clay work on the interior walls, arranging the outdoor space, working on off-grid systems (water/solar), etc.
Elena works in an unusual place of lodging of treehouses and François works animation films/photo/video. We also have backgrounds in education and social work. Among other fun things, we love to jam and play music, like double bass, piano, guitar and work on our vegetable garden!
We welcome travelers with or without construction experience, as long as they have lots of motivation!! If you're interested in construction/eco-construction, woodworking, alternative housing, music, or nature, you’ll feel right at home here. We prefer to welcome duos or couples, it's more pleasant since that way you will not be alone when we take some time off to take care of our little children. We are currently looking for workawayers who speak Spanish (o Valenciano ;), or French, as it makes communication smoother with our kids. We like to have a video call before confirming a stay.

Help
We can offer a stay in exchange for help with the construction of our second roulotte. As much as possible, we'll try to host you in one of our roulottes, but we also have a guest room in the house.

We also speak Valencian with our children.
Accommodation
Our first Roulotte is not very spacious but very comfortable and unique, you can sleep comfortably being 2. It includes: a double bed, a dry toilet, a shower, a wood stove, an induction hob, some utensils, a sink, a fridge, a table and stools! There is electricity and a can of drinking water that we can fill you on demand and we can also provide Wi-Fi access. We built the trailer in the nice little village of Menugoutte, lost in the Belgian Ardenne, not far from Herbeumont and Neufchâteau. Our second roulotte isn’t finished yet, but it’s already possible to sleep in it: the bed is set up, and the dry toilet is already functional.
We are vegetarian, so for the meals we invite you to discuss with us to find the best arrangement. Depending of you we can provide or sharing our meals (with also the possibility of cooking in our trailer).
What else ...
We can show you some nice natural spots like hiking places, forests or river.
The nearest town is Neufchateau (7km) but if you come by train the most convenient is to get off at Libramont station (about 15km). We can come and pick you at the station :D

Kind and easygoing, a hardworking Workawayer who is effective in her job! She wasn't afraid to face the rain - too bad it rained all week... :( - and dive into testing new tasks! We had a very enjoyable week in your company!
Thank you very much, Bente!
Bon voyage ! Merci pour ton coup de main et à bientôt!?
