    Description

I moved down to Mahahual a few years ago when my family purchased this property. We are trying to create a wellness retreat and create community in this tranquil area 20 minutesnorth of town.
Wildlife and an amazing coral reef off the backyard are what drew me to this space. The house on the property is spacious and comfortable. Hammocks and furniture outside make it easy to enjoy the view
Right now there is one paid employee who works here three days a week he takes care of the grounds and some repairs

I am a native English speaker but really need to improve my Spanish.
We try to live with as little impact as possible to the environment. Living here has taught me how much our purchases effect the world at large. I think coming here can put you in touch with this as well. Finding creative ways to deal with this huge problem is also a boon
I sew as a side hustle and am happy to show this skill to you as well. We’ll enjoy at least one meal together and with other volunteers sharing language and laughs through cooking together.
You’ll have plenty of down time to relax
There are also two exercises classes a week you are welcome to join meet new people who live in the area

Know this is a very rural area. There is an abundance of wildlife and it is very tranquil and maybe kind of boring. Snorkeling is spectacular here and right off the beach
The town of mahahual is 25-30 minutes away and sometimes taxis are limited.
    If I’m
Going to town I’m happy to give rides. But it takes coordination and planning.

  • Help

    Help

The main focus of the work would be helping the area at large by clearing the beach of trash accumulation. It can range from plastic bottles to bags or shoes. I’m hoping to help the wildlife and sea life by bringing the level of accumulation down to zero.
I also need general help with the garden and grounds.
Building a few structures. Experience with basic carpentry would be amazing.
Know how to fix a refrigerator please contact me!
Most things are teachable. Finding someone with skills here is like finding a unicorn.
    Immediate goals
-build a bar and support structures on the beach
    -build furniture for beach
    -maintenance on exterior building
-everything online from marketing and Branding to creating reels and posting

The retreat is not open now . It still needs some work. High season is ending so it will just be us

Please understand that if my calendar lists me as full or red it is true and I do not need anyone if it is almost full or yellow reach out.
My reply rate is low due to this issue. When I am full it’s hatd to find time to answer requests to stay.
    I appreciate your time
