    ***ENG***

Hello, my name is Kaori, and I am the project manager. Thank you very much for your interest in this volunteer opportunity. We are currently developing activities in Peru, specifically in Ollantaytambo, where we are seeking support in areas such as teaching, marketing/communications, event planning, and the arts in general. Before we begin, we would love to get to know you better: learn about your interests, passions, and skills, and how you would like to contribute.

Discover Ollantaytambo: A Magical Destination Steeped in History
Ollantaytambo, located at the edge of the Sacred Valley and on the banks of the Wilcamayo (Vilcanota) River, is a unique and enchanting place. This magical town combines spectacular landscapes with a special energy that makes it a must-see destination. Here you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in its rich history, from its impressive Inca fortress to its cobblestone streets that tell stories of a vibrant past.

With approximately 13,000 inhabitants, Ollantaytambo is known as the "Living Inca Village," a place where ancestral traditions coexist with everyday life. However, it also faces significant challenges, such as the lack of adequate infrastructure for its residents. Our project seeks to support this community while promoting its culture and art.

What do we look for in volunteers?
Here, we carefully select our volunteers to ensure a collaborative and nurturing environment. We want to work with passionate people who share our values and are committed to the well-being of Ollantaytambo. In addition to contributing your skills, you will have the opportunity to receive as much as you give: you will share unforgettable moments with friends and learn more about this unique community.

Our goal: to promote art and culture
One of our main goals is to generate more artistic and cultural events in Ollantaytambo. We believe that art is a powerful tool to promote empathy, unity, and community development. Through workshops, fairs, and cultural activities, we seek to strengthen the ties between local residents and visitors.

    Volunteer Benefits
As part of your volunteer program, you will have access to:
    A place to sleep.
A kitchen, office, and common areas in our Wasi home.
    Workshops organized by the project.
Leading art workshops for children or adults.

    Ground Rules: Respect and Coexistence
We deeply value mutual respect. This includes keeping our home clean and tidy to keep the energy flowing positively. We organize cooking together, or you can do it on your own if you prefer. We also do community shopping every two weeks in Urubamba.

    Current Projects
We are working on exciting initiatives such as:

EVENT MANAGEMENT: Inka Avalanche 2025, the highest mountain downhill competition. A descent from over 4,000 meters above sea level over 19 kilometers of adrenaline-filled terrain. We are looking for partners who can support the organization of the fair and the riders during the 6 days before, during, and after the event. (4 vacancies) EVENT DATE: May 3rd and 4th

PROJECT INTERVENTION: Art in the Mountains, an artistic intervention designed to recognize the cultural diversity of Peru and the community with the state educational institutions: Ollantay and Manco Inca, both the only secondary schools in the Ollantaytambo district.
We also seek to develop their socio-emotional skills through sensitizing artistic experiences. We are looking for educators and artists with experience teaching art. (Project starts MAY 2025-2026) Minimum stay 3 months. Maximum 6 months.

PROMOTER: Do you have interpersonal skills and would you like to work on finding sponsors? It's important right now to seek financial support to create art workshops in the most remote areas of the district. We must seek support since these people lack the resources and are not used to hosting art workshops for children outside of the festivities where they rehearse. Quality art in our country is something only for the privileged, and this is something we want to change because we know how important the development of creativity is for human evolution.

Muralists and artists in general. We want to support an initiative of the Pachar community, who, trusting the authorities, erased some murals they had in their homes. We hope that the municipal administration will give them new walls that are more harmonious and have a greater purpose.

    --
