    Description

San Diego native, 17 years in New Orleans. I've hosted workawayers, couchsurfers, home exchangers, renters, and a revolving cast of friends and family — I genuinely enjoy the mix of people that comes with an open door.

My background is in experiential education, photography, and production. I led a community arts nonprofit and photography festival for years, and have worked with National Geographic and Smithsonian expedition programs producing exhibitions and wilderness education.
Right now I'm deep into one of the most interesting projects of my life: renovating a historic 1832 building in the New Orleans Arts District that belonged to my friend Jack Stewart — a jazz historian, theater historian, and architectural preservationist. We're sifting through decades of archives, digitizing records, doing research, toward an artist residency and exhibition program. It's new territory for me and I love it.

    The Projects
Depending on your skills and interests, there's a wide range of ways to plug in: archival sorting and digitization, photography and videography, research, grant writing support, art projects, cooking, house projects, or just good co-working energy. I like finding the right fit.

    Perks
Private room in a historic 1832 building in the New Orleans Arts District or two bedroom house in Historic Treme Neighborhood
Food stipend and household basics covered - laundry, wifi, utilities
Access to a creative live/work environment and active arts community
Introductions to the New Orleans photography, music, and cultural scene
Flexible schedule — 15 hours a week commitment - more is welcome! Work trades for stuff possible

    A Great Fit
Someone curious about history, architecture, music, and New Orleans culture beyond the obvious. You probably have remote work or a project of your own. You're not coming here to party — though I'm not opposed to a good time, I'm looking for positive, motivated, good-vibes people. Super plus if you're into clean eating and want to enjoy some meals together! New Orleans has so much more to offer than most visitors discover, and I'm happy to be your introduction to it. I have a membership to a co-working space and a couple pools to sweeten the deal!
