Description
Mountain Retreat
Our place offers all-inclusive holidays to guests from around the world. We can accommodate a maximum of 14 guests who typically stay with us for 1 week. During their stay, guests have the opportunity to practice yoga, enjoy guided outdoor mountain activities or perhaps relax in our beautiful wood-fired hot tub. We value our environment and all meals at are plant based.
Our guests appreciate a personalised service and homely atmosphere which we cultivate through communal dining and sharing our time and interests of the great outdoors.
Our aim of our retreat is to introduce guests to mountain activities and experience the surrounding nature.
It is at 1800m on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park in Austria. Our location is truly something special: the views from the house are stunning, many hiking routes start from the house and in winter you can ski down from the house to the ski lifts, the 'garden' is filled with Marmots, Gams (Chamois) and Deer. Please note that is a remote place! The village of Kals is 5km down the road and Lienz, the nearest city, is 30km from the place. In the winter, accessibility is limited, so usually once you have arrived back to the place after a day of adventure, you really do not want to leave again.Types of help and learning opportunities

Our team is already diverse in that we come from different parts of Europe. Our guests are all very varied, from all over the world and have many different interests. The area that we are based in is an amazing traditional Austrian farming community, where things still happen the 'old' ways. We are also surrounded by an astounding amount of nature; wild flowers, birdlife and wild animals never cease to amaze us in this beautiful place!

About the role
We are looking for a mountain loving host with the ability to teach a few yoga classes and help in the kitchen.
We are looking for someone to join our team this August until October, this role would suit a couple, but we are also able to accommodate a single person.
This role involves being a practical and diligent host. You will both work alongside the rest of our small team to ensure that it is a safe, welcoming environment in which to stay and live. We have fantastic reviews which always compliment our friendly staff, who are looking for extra ways to help. We’re not a hotel, we consider our place to be a shared mountain experience, we eat with the guests and when possible, we also join them on the daily activities like hiking or a morning yoga class. The other part of the role is helping with breakfast set up and clean up.
The ability to lead a few yoga classes and be comfortable cooking one evening meal for our guests is a huge advantage.
You will support the different elements that make up the experience for our guests in the mountains.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a friendly, open minded ‘people’ person. You will spend a lot of time with our lovely guests from all over the world. A willingness to start conversation and a love of meeting people is necessary.
Prior hospitality experience is an advantage

Love of mountains and the outdoors to make the most of our wonderful location.
Good understanding of practical skills

The Work:
Weekly: When guests are with us, we work six days a week with one full day off. We then have an extra morning and evening off a week. This gives you the chance to not dine with the guests and have some extra space.
Monthly Pay: In accordance with Austrian regulations and also includes accommodation, food, use of equipment (yoga room for example)
We all work hard but you should see it as a lifestyle – we are not “staff” in the narrow sense of the word; it’s very much a “team” effort! We get to live in a stunning location, bike down the ‘road’ to pick up the bread, meet really interesting people and eat great vegan food.
The Team
You would both join a team of 4 other permanent employees.Languages spoken

We offer one private room with en-suite private bathroom and a stunning view, all meals, WiFi, yoga classes and a relaxingly active atmosphere in one of the most beautiful places in Europe.
