  • Description

    Description

We are Rami, Miia and Meera. We live on a big farm in central Portugal, living a plant based life, and growing some of our food following permaculture principals.

We have a big event room where we love hosting women's circles, singing circles and ceremonies. We have also hosted a few gatherings and wish to host more in the future.

Besides receiving volunteers, we often have friends and other visitors staying with us, and we are also looking for long term members.
In addition, Miia's parents live on the land in a caravan part of the year.

    Our values:
🌱 Vegan lifestyle with the exception of local honey
🌱 Commitment to inner work and self-reflection
🌱 Authenticity: being honest about who we are
    🌱 Co-creation & togetherness
🌱 Responsibility: showing up and doing one's part

We both work in the field of emotional healing and shadow work for inner transformation. Miia is a singer, and interested in raw foodism. Rami is an excellent cook and an activist.

Our daughter was born in the summer of 2025 and is a social butterfly who loves exploring outdoors. In the future we would love to explore the idea of a forest school with other families.

Also, we are very happy to receive families with children through Workaway!

The land is in a secluded valley, yet only 10 minutes from the town of Oliveira do Hospital. There is a river bordering the land and huge boulders that we sometimes climb to see the sunset. There are several hiking trails going directly from the farm.

This area is a hub for alternative families, with lots of events and things happening every week. Local hippy markets are the meeting points, as well as bi-weekly ecstatic dance, song circles, parties, concerts, little festivals, temascal and more.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Miia is from Finland and Rami is from Bashan (a region inside Syria). Over the years we have hosted people from all over the world and our friends here are a colorful mix of nationalities.

We enjoy playing music together, going to local events, such as markets, the community cafe, and concerts. Our volunteers are always welcome to join us.

We also host some events such as monthly women's circle and cacao & song circles that you are also welcome to take part in.

You can learn about shadow work, relationships, conflict resolution, vegan cooking, natural building, permaculture and probably more. :)

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for people who are happy to experience a plant based diet while staying with us, who love children and who enjoy the outdoors and some physical work. Here are some potential tasks depending what's needed, on your interests and capacity:

✨ Garden tasks: weeding, mulching, planting, harvesting
✨ Clearing: cutting grass & bushes, collecting and cutting wood.
✨ Childcare (while one of the parents is around/near by)
✨ Cooking for the family and volunteers
✨ Social media: taking pictures and posting them
✨ Beautifying indoors: creating cozy atmosphere in the house, can include artwork

We will be doing some of the tasks together and there is a possibility to learn especially about gardening and natural building. At the moment we are finalising a clay structure and are planning to build a mobile sauna. You are welcome to observe and participate if you would like to learn.

We offer a healthy, plant based lunch on working days, as well as oats for breakfast. Sometimes we cook and sometimes we might ask volunteers to cook, and this will be counted in the working hours.
