Description
I'm a German marine activist and have swam huge open ocean costal routes since 2007, completing 8,765 kilometers in long haul swims for Marine Protected Areas in various parts of the world.
When I'm back in Canada which is usually from the end of March until the end of October, I dedicate myself to my lovely wilderness property as well as planning swims for the following season.
There are many things that I can no longer do because of health issues since I am 68 years old.
I no longer dare to climb on my own roof because of imbalance issues, so what I'm looking for in a Workawayer is a helper, doing things I am not able to do anymore, in particular outside maintenance jobs like: power washing, deck repainting, weed whacking paths through the forest, cleaning skylights, window washing, etc.

Accommodation
I offer an individual log cabin surrounded by wilderness mature forest with a Queen size bed, 3 couches, a table and 2 chairs. Lots of place to relax and access to bathroom and other facilities in the main house which is 20 meters away.

What else ...
The nearest beach is 10 min walk on a beautiful trail behind the house. I have 2 bicycles available and with a little TLC they can take you as far as you'd like to go!
The nearest town is Sidney and you can get there by bicycle in approximately 20 min. My community is called Deep Cove and it's 6 km away from Sidney

I rescued my lovely kitty cat in 2019 and he has been with me ever since. Everybody loves this cat and he loves everybody, especially my workaways! I hope I can add photos here of him, but in my main profile, there is a photo of a work away er holding him in his arms. He loves being picked up.

thank you so much for hosting me the last ten days in your beautiful home in the woods! It was a funny time, especially our daily cooking sessions with great (almost) vegetarian delicious meals and our great trips to different lakes, where we went swimming and relaxing. I will miss your company and the free time in the hammock and in… read more
