Description
My name is Sassy and I live with my partner at Moehau Community at the far end of the Coromandel Peninsula. I currently manage the in a Nursery, which is a community-run native nursery, in Colville, growing plants for local restoration projects. I am also passionate about bookbinding! There are currently about 20 people living in my community, where we have shared and private spaces. We have a number of farm animals, orchards, a pottery, and a communal farmhouse. The location is beautiful and we are lucky enough to have a beach at the end of the driveway as well as a river and native forest up the valley. This is really a place to come if you like nature, with lots of forest and wonderful beaches to explore. There are also many little towns around the peninsula, with plenty of places to eat and drink. Please note that I am not always on the internet so may not reply for a few days!

We are able to share a taste of living in community, and are keen to meet people from different walks of life. I am enthusiastic about sharing experiences and learning new things and am excited to meet people from around the world who also appreciate these things.
Help
We are currently looking for help with the much needed weeding and planting that needs to be done around the main farmhouse area. There is always plenty to do though, so are happy to work in with whatever skills people can bring. We would like people who are enthusiastic, are able to do tasks with us, but also happy to do them independently when needed. I am also very excited about people who can cook well! We are passionate about sharing skills so are keen to host people that are also happy to share there knowledge with others.

Accommodation
We can provide all bedding, a small tent for camping, a private bedroom in the community farmhouse, or a sleepout next to the farmhouse, depending on what is available at the time. Other, more private self-contained spaces may be available depending on timing and what work is provided. How many meals and the duration of stay will need to be negotiated on an individual basis, and will be determined by the compatibility of the community and the guest.
We will be happy to negotiate the providing of food on an individual basis. If we have big jobs to work on together, 3 meals will be provided for 5 hours of help a day. Meal preparation will be shared. If guests would rather help for 2 -3 hours a day, they must provide their own food. What else ...
There is no public transport where we live so guests will need a vehicle or be willing to hitch-hike! They may also need to bring their own data as all internet access comes from private cellphones. 4G Mobile networks should work with any provider, but older phones have a limited area for good signal. I am often away from the internet so it could be a few days till I reply!
The nearest store - Colville General Store - is around 35min drive south of us.A little more information
