Description
Hej! I’ m Gabri, originally from Italy, I ve been living in Sweden for some years now.
I lived in many places and always doing adventurous activities including working as a firefighter and in the last years guiding sleddogs multi-day expeditions.
I'm an open mind person, interested in listening other people life experiences, I love having good conversations.
I like sport as I was involved in high level sport for most of my life, love fishing, passionate about art and quantum theories
I decided finally to make Sweden my home, a place immersed in nature.
Two years ago I bought a farm on the edge of a small village nestled in the wilderness of Jämtland County, north of Strömsund.
Over the summer I m slowly bringing the property back to life, and cleaning up the yard as demolishing some old building, cutting and splitting firewood, taking care of the garden, and improving and renovating some rooms of the house.
But if you are not used on heavy work with axe or chainsaw I ll appreciate also someone who can take care of the house, preparing the meals, and keeping the place clean and pleasant.
The place is an old farm surrounded by grassland and forest, the house is in good shape and cozy, offering electricity, running water, WI-FI, 2 bathrooms, a shower, a kitchen, sauna and several bedrooms.
The village is located on the shore of Lake Flåsjön, and is crossed by the famous Vildmarksvägen (the wilderness road) that reaches the mountains on the border with Norway, and then descends again towards Vilhelmina. Nature around the house dominates in every direction. Some days the moose come out of the forest and cross the yard, after the sunset red fox, roe deer, mountain hare roam around the house. From the backyard an infinite wilderness opens up for dozens of kilometers. Among the most emblematic animals that populate the forests are the lynx, the wolverine and the brown bear
You can go freely picking the abundant mushrooms and berries.
It’s also possible go fishing and ask for a canoe or kayak to rent at the village.
I go often fishing in then evening and some day hiking and exploring the forests or up on the mountains.
As wilderness guide I ll be happy to share knowledge and experience about the nature around and how to make it on your own in the wilderness.
In the village there are no shops of any kind which are all located in Strömsund, reachable by bus in about 30’ (bus stop 100m from home), and by car with me . I go often in town to buy food and tools.
People living in the neighborhood are kind and friendly
Everyone who wants to taste the rural life of Sweden is welcome in the summer of Jämtland!! 🙂
