Description
We are Emily (33), James (35) and our daughter Delma who is 5 years old.
We moved to Portugal in 2017 from England and began to renovate the ruins on our land and develop the land as a small holding for self sustainability and the joy of living in nature.
We live in a valley 20 minutes from Monchique, completely surrounded by nature with our dog 2 dogs, cats and chickens on a 1.8 hectare plot of mountain land.
We would love some help fencing the land to be able to have sheep, improving the veggie garden, feeding the chickens, and generally clearing, improving and maintaining the land. The main emphasis at the moment is clearing as much of the land as possible in preparation for the fire season.
Help with the cooking is always greatly appreciated! I love being inspired by new dishes.
We are also building our family home so we may ask for help here if you would like to get involved.
Delma is a very friendly, curious and talkative little girl, she'll love getting to know you😊
I (Emily) am a Reiki and Massage therapist and I usually have weekly clients. James is a carpenter and works away on and off throughout the summer. I really appreciate the help when he's gone! We'll work together on projects and sometimes you may be working alone.
We are a friendly family and have really enjoyed spending time with volunteers in the past and look forward to making more memories.
We also love time to ourselves and respect this need in volunteers too.
It's a very quiet and peaceful valley. A vehicle is essential to get to town.Types of help and learning opportunities
