    Description

We are Emily (28), James (30) and our new baby girl Delma born in June this year!

We live in a beautiful valley 20 minutes from Monchique, completely surrounded by nature with our 2 dogs and a cat.

Last summer a wild fire past through the land and destroyed everything we spent the last year creating. We have finally managed to get back on our feet and would love some help developing the land to make it a beautiful, functioning farm.
I (Emily) would like some help around the house; cooking, cleaning and watering plants so that she can concentrate on breastfeeding Delma during this precious time.

James is a carpenter and has a lot of work for clients at the moment. He would like some help in our organic vegetable garden; watering, weeding harvesting, improving soil and growing more food!

We would also like help to build a utility room, dig some new water channels, improve pathways, create flower beds and a social area, cut down burnt trees and plant new ones. Some of this work will be done together with James and some on your own.

We are a friendly, sociable couple and have really enjoyed spending time with volunteers in the past. Most evenings we now need to ourselves as a new family.

It is very quiet and peaceful in our valley. Be prepared to spend time on your own. A vehicle is essential to get to town.

I love all things women's health and empowerment. Sacred circles, exploring the inner world of energies, deepening connections to nature, each other and ourselves. I like to mediate, do yoga, qi gong, and dance.
James likes to surf, skate, go fishing, make things from wood and leather and drink beer 😉
We love art, music and films.

You will experience the early stages of a small holding. What it's like to build an off grid life from scratch...water systems, composting toilets, growing vegetables.
Learn to live in harmony with nature and embrace the beauty of a simple life.
James is happy to share his knowledge of carpentry.
I like to work mindfully and would like to share this experience with others.
