  Description

  We are Isaac and Carolina, a couple from Medellín. For the past four years, we have been building the Wellness Center in the Piedras Blancas area of ​​Guarne, Antioquia—located 50 minutes from Medellín and 15 minutes from the town of Guarne. We are just 5 minutes from the El Tambo Metrocable station and 14 minutes from Arví Park.
  
  It is a wellness center featuring accommodations, a *maloca* (ceremonial lodge) for events and ceremonies, a restaurant, and a private forest spanning over 25,000 square meters. The name carries a double meaning: in the local "Paisa" dialect, it sounds like *musgo* (moss)—fitting, as we have over 47 species of moss on our property—while the English spelling reflects our belief that this is a place one simply *must* visit. It is neither a conventional hotel nor a hostel; rather, it is a space designed for people to reconnect with nature, themselves, and others through authentic experiences such as workshops, retreats, experiential dinners, ceremonies, and forest bathing.
  
  Our connection to ancestral medicines took us on a years-long journey through Putumayo and other regions of Colombia. There, we realized the power of genuine exchange—giving and receiving from a place of honesty. That is the spirit we want to bring to this volunteer experience.
  
  This is our first time hosting volunteers through Workaway, and we want to be upfront about that. We don’t have a rigid manual or a "perfect" system in place yet, but we do have a beautiful location, a clear idea of ​​our needs, and a strong desire to make this a success for everyone involved. We are weeks away from our grand opening and are looking for people who want to be part of that milestone.
  
  Our core team consists of two permanent members handling administration and general maintenance, plus a rotating staff member who manages cleaning based on the property's needs.

  Somos Isaac y Carolina, una pareja de Medellín. Llevamos cuatro años construyendo Centro de Bienestar en la vereda Piedras Blancas de Guarne, Antioquia, a 50 minutos de Medellín y 15 minutos del pueblo de Guarne. Estamos a 5 minutos del metro cable El Tambo y a 14 minutos del Parque Arví.
  
  Es un centro de bienestar con hospedaje, maloca para ceremonias y eventos, restaurante y un bosque privado de más de 25.000 metros cuadrados. El nombre tiene doble sentido, en español "paisa" es musgo porque tenemos más de 47 especies de musgo en nuestra propiedad ; porque es un lugar al que consideramos se "debe ir". No es un hotel ni un hostal convencional. Es un espacio pensado para que las personas se reconecten con la naturaleza, con ellas mismas y con otros, a través de experiencias reales: talleres, retiros, cenas experienciales, ceremonias, baño de bosque.
  
  Nuestra conexión con las medicinas ancestrales nos llevó durante años por el Putumayo y otras zonas de Colombia. Ahí entendimos lo potente que es el intercambio genuino: dar y recibir desde un lugar honesto. Eso es lo que queremos hnggihe ii traer a esta experiencia con voluntarios.
  
  Esta es nuestra primera vez recibiendo voluntarios en Workaway. Lo decimos con honestidad. No tenemos un manual armado ni todo perfecto, pero sí tenemos un lugar hermoso, claridad en lo que necesitamos y muchas ganas de que esto funcione bien para los dos lados. Estamos a semanas de abrir por primera vez y buscamos personas que quieran ser parte de ese momento.

  We're in a rural area, so if you're looking for a quieter time, close to nature and away from the noise, this is a good moment to come. Since we're still in the opening process, the flow of people will be smaller at first. That also means more space to connect with us and with the surroundings.
  
  Every now and then we organize experiences and gatherings. Not big events, more intimate moments of connection, which is exactly what drives us.
  What we can share with you: we accompany therapeutic processes and have spent years in the spiritual world and ancestral medicine.
  
  We're also entrepreneurs who built this from scratch, so if you're interested in building something meaningful from a conscious place, there's a lot to talk about.
  
  What we hope to get from the exchange: more than volunteers, we're looking for people who like to live well and keep things clear. We believe a timely conversation is worth more than any unnecessary conflict. We're direct and we expect the same. If something isn't working, we talk about it. If something is going well, we say that too.
  
  Carolina speaks a bit English and this exchange is also an opportunity for her to practice and improve. So if you're coming from another country, that part of the exchange is very welcome too.

  Estamos en zona rural, así que si estás buscando un tiempo tranquilo, cerca de la naturaleza y lejos del ruido, este es un buen momento para venir. Al inicio, por estar en proceso de apertura, el flujo de personas va a ser menor. Eso también significa más espacio para conectar con nosotros y con el entorno.
  
  De vez en cuando organizamos experiencias y encuentros. No son eventos masivos, son momentos más íntimos de conexión, que es justamente lo que nos mueve.
  
  Lo que podemos compartir contigo: acompañamos procesos terapéuticos y llevamos años en el camino espiritual y de las medicinas ancestrales. También somos emprendedores y hemos construido esto desde cero, así que si te interesa el mundo de hacer empresa desde un lugar consciente, hay mucho para conversar.
  
  Lo que esperamos del intercambio: más que voluntarios, buscamos personas que les guste vivir bien y tener las cosas claras. Creemos que una conversación a tiempo vale más que cualquier conflicto. Somos directos y esperamos lo mismo. Si algo no funciona, lo hablamos. Si algo está bien, también lo decimos.
  Carolina habla un poco de inglés y este intercambio también es una oportunidad para practicar y mejorar. Así que si vienes de otro país, esa parte del intercambio también es bienvenida.

  Help

  Necesitamos ayuda con el alistamiento final antes de la apertura. La construcción ya está terminada. Lo que queda son tareas de jardinería, pintura, mantenimiento y organización de espacios. Son 4 horas al dia, durante 5 dias a la semana; cada semana nos reunimos para revisar tareas, cómo vas y cómo te sientes.
  Hay tareas que hacemos juntos y hay momentos en que trabajas de forma independiente, según la tarea y el día.
  
  - Tareas diarias, todos los días: preparar el desayuno (para el equipo) y limpieza general del espacio.
  
  Tareas de alistamiento:
  - Jardinería: desyerbe y mantenimiento general de zonas verdes.
  - Caminos del bosque: arrancar maleza, organizar bordes y rellenar con piedra.
  - Pintura: estructuras metálicas de la maloca y la cabaña.
  - Organización interior: acomodar y ordenar dos habitaciones en proceso de adecuación.
  - Tareas puntuales: blanquear el piso del restaurante, tapar brechas de cableado de cámaras de seguridad, transportar leña.
  
  Si tienes una habilidad específica como murales, carpintería, o cualquier otro oficio, al llegar lo conversamos. Creemos que es más poderoso definir un proyecto por voluntario según lo que cada quien sabe hacer. Cada persona que pase por acá puede dejar algo suyo en el espacio.

  We welcome help with final preparations before opening. Construction is already complete. What remains involves some gardening, painting, maintenance, and organizing spaces. The schedule is 4 hours a day, 5 days a week; we meet weekly to review tasks, check your progress, and see how you’re feeling.
  Some tasks are done together, while others are performed independently, depending on the specific task and the day.
  
  - Daily tasks: preparing breakfast (for the team) and general cleaning of the space.
  
  Preparation tasks:
  - Gardening: weeding and general maintenance of green areas.
  - Forest paths: clearing weeds, tidying edges, and filling with stone.
  - Painting: metal structures for the *maloca* and the cabin.
  - Interior organization: arranging and tidying up two rooms currently being fitted out.
  - Specific tasks: whitewashing the restaurant floor, sealing gaps around security camera wiring, and hauling firewood.
  
  If you have a specific skill—such as mural painting, carpentry, or any other trade—we can discuss it when you arrive. We believe it is more impactful to define a project for each volunteer based on their individual skills. Every person who passes through here has the chance to leave a personal mark on the space.

  Accommodation

  You'll have a private room, comfortable and ready for you. The bathroom is shared and located outside the room.
  
  Breakfast is included and we prepare it together as part of the daily routine. For lunch and dinner you have access to the kitchen to cook your own meals. There's a nearby store and we're happy to guide you on how to shop.
  
  You have access to all common areas: restaurant, coworking space, maloca, yoga area, private forest, vegetable garden, and apiary. Wifi works well throughout the property.

  El desayuno está incluido y lo preparamos juntos como parte de la rutina diaria. Para el almuerzo y la cena tienes acceso a la cocina para preparar tu propia comida. Hay una tienda cerca y con gusto te orientamos para hacer las compras.
  
  Tienes acceso a todas las zonas comunes: restaurante, espacio de coworking, maloca, zona de yoga, bosque privado, huerta y apiario. El wifi funciona muy bien.

  In your free time you can explore everything the eastern Antioquia region has to offer. We're 15 minutes from Guarne, a quiet town with everything you need for daily life. Medellín is an hour away by bus and well worth the trip. You also have Parque Arví nearby, great for hiking, and towns like Guatapé, Marinilla, and El Carmen de Víboral, some of the most beautiful in Antioquia.
  There's public transport access from the property, so getting around is straightforward.
  About our lifestyle: we're a couple who've been together for over 10 years and we live quietly, and that's reflected in the space. It is not a place for alcohol or noise, and that's important to know before you arrive.
  We have dogs and cats, though they live in our separate cabin and don't interfere with the day to day of the accommodation.

  En tu tiempo libre puedes explorar todo lo que tiene el oriente antioqueño. Estamos a 15 minutos de Guarne, un pueblo tranquilo con lo necesario para el día a día. Medellín está a una hora en bus y vale mucho la pena bajar. También tienes cerca el Parque Arví, ideal para caminatas, y pueblos como Guatapé, Marinilla y El Carmen de Víboral, que son algunos de los más bonitos de Antioquia.
  Hay acceso a transporte público desde la propiedad, así que moverte no es complicado.
  Sobre nuestro estilo de vida: somos una pareja con más de 10 años juntos, llevamos una vida tranquila y eso se refleja en el espacio. No es un lugar para el alcohol ni el ruido, eso es importante tenerlo claro desde antes de llegar.
  Tenemos perros y gatos, aunque viven en nuestra cabaña aparte y no interfieren con el día a día del hospedaje.
