Description
Hi there 🌿 and thanks for being here.
I’m Jorge — a Colombian (paisa) social entrepreneur passionate about building spaces where people can live, work, and reconnect with what truly matters.
Over the past years, I’ve been part of creating projects here in Jericó — experiences that have welcomed hundreds of travelers and volunteers from all over the world. Together, we explored a simple but powerful idea:
👉 that nature, community, and meaningful work can transform the way we live.
This became one of the first rural coworking experiences in Colombia — a place where digital nomads could work with high-speed internet while being surrounded by mountains, culture, and a slower rhythm of life.
Today, we are entering a new chapter.
We are reopening our volunteer program — but in a more intentional and personal way.
Instead of a large coliving setup, we are currently working from a home-based space in nature, just outside Jericó. This is a place in evolution — where we are designing, organizing, and preparing the foundation for future retreats focused on bioconstruction, food, and regenerative living.
This space is also home to Matías 🐾 (who quickly becomes everyone’s favorite teammate).
Our current focus is simple:
Taking care of the home
Improving and designing spaces
Light construction, painting, organizing
Gardening and small cultivation projects
We are not offering a “finished” place — but rather the opportunity to be part of building it.
In exchange, we offer:
Comfortable accommodation
A peaceful environment in nature
Reliable internet for remote work
Spanish classes (4 times per week)
And the chance to experience Jericó beyond tourism — through daily life, community, and creation
This is ideal for people who enjoy:
✨ Calm over chaos
✨ Purpose over comfort
✨ Creating instead of consuming
If you feel aligned with this stage — simple, real, and full of potential — you’re very welcome to reach out.
We are opening this slowly, with the right people 🌱
— Jorge

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Living here is not just about volunteering — it’s about understanding a place from the inside 🌿
Jericó is more than a beautiful town. It’s a territory full of history, coffee culture, traditions, and people who have shaped life in the mountains for generations.
By staying with us, you’ll have the opportunity to:
🌎 Connect with the territory
Discover hidden paths, viewpoints, and nature spots that most travelers never find
Learn how to move around Jericó like a local
Access trusted contacts for tours, experiences, and local businesses
We’re always happy to share recommendations, routes, and connections so you can explore the region in a deeper and more authentic way.
🌱 Learn by doing
Basics of organizing and improving living spaces
Introduction to gardening and small-scale cultivation
Early steps into regenerative living concepts (what we’re building toward)
🗣️ Language & cultural exchange
Spanish classes (4 times per week)
Daily interaction in both Spanish and English
Understanding Colombian culture beyond tourism
🧠 A different rhythm of life
Slowing down and reconnecting with nature
Experiencing a balance between independence and community
Living simply, but with intention
This is not a “touristic experience” — it’s a real immersion into daily life in the mountains, with the added value of being guided by people who have been developing projects in this region for years.
Help
We are reopening our volunteer program in a much more personal and intentional way 🌿
Right now, this is a home-based project in nature, where we are building, organizing, and preparing the space for future retreats focused on bioconstruction, food, and regenerative living.
The help we’re looking for is simple, hands-on, and meaningful:
🛠️ Daily contributions (around 3 hours per day)
Organizing and maintaining the house
Cleaning and keeping spaces in harmony
Painting and improving areas
Light gardening and cultivation
Supporting daily life at home
Taking care of Matías 🐾
🌐 Optional / complementary contributions
Helping with small online tasks (content, ideas, organization)
Language exchange (Spanish / English)
Sharing any creative or practical skills
Some days you may work alongside us, and other days you’ll be more independent, especially during short periods when I may be in Medellín working on other projects.
This means we’re looking for people who are:
✔ Responsible and proactive
✔ Comfortable managing their own time
✔ Respectful of a calm home environment
✔ Happy being both in company and in solitude
🗓️ Stay details
Minimum stay: 1 week
Contribution: ~3 hours per day
Exchange includes accommodation + Spanish classes (4 times per week, 1 hour)
Languages
Languages spoken
English: Fluent
Spanish: Fluent
Portuguese: Intermediate
French: BeginnerThis host offers a language exchange
You could see this place as a little international hub in the mountain ranges. You can always practice Spanish and English, but depending on the volunteers and guests we accomodate, you can also practice other languages.
Accommodation
You’ll stay in a comfortable private or shared room within the house, surrounded by nature 🌿
This is a simple but cozy home — not luxury, but designed for calm, rest, and everyday living.
One special part of this experience is that one of the rooms is still being designed and organized.
This means you’ll have the opportunity to:
✨ Help shape the space
✨ Contribute ideas for layout and design
✨ Be part of creating a functional and beautiful environment
If you enjoy interior design, organizing spaces, or bringing ideas to life, this can be a very rewarding part of your stay.
The house includes:
A shared kitchen
Common areas to relax or work
Quiet surroundings with views of nature
This is a living space that is evolving — and you’re invited to be part of that process.
What else ...
Jericó is not just a destination — it’s a place with a strong cultural identity and a living creative community 🌿
During your time off, you can explore a town full of life:
A vibrant main square with cafés, local markets, and traditional food
Museums, cultural spaces, and live music
Coffee culture in one of the most beautiful towns in Colombia
But what makes this experience truly special goes beyond tourism.
🌎 Access to a living network
Through this project, you’ll be connected to a community of local creators and knowledge keepers, including:
Artists and musicians
Experts in archaeology and local history
Gastronomy projects and farm-to-table initiatives
Local guides who know the mountains, rivers, and hidden paths
People working with ancestral and natural medicine traditions
This means your experience can become much deeper — not just visiting, but understanding and connecting.
🌄 Nature & exploration
If you love the outdoors, this region offers:
Endless hiking trails and mountain views
Birdwatching and biodiversity
Waterfalls and hidden natural spots
Quiet spaces to reflect, rest, and recharge
🚌 Getting around
Jericó is well connected by bus to Medellín and other towns in Antioquia. Once here, most places can be explored by foot, local transport, or short rides.
🌱 A place for impact
This experience is not only about what you see — but about what you become part of.
Everything we’re building is connected to a bigger vision:
supporting local communities, creating opportunities in rural areas, and developing projects that respect both people and nature.
If you’re curious, open, and willing to engage — Jericó can become much more than a stop in your journey.
A little more information

Internet access

Limited internet access

We have pets

We are smokers

Can host families

Can host digital nomads
We offer a simple and comfortable setup for those who enjoy being close to nature 🌿 Our internet connection is powered by Starlink, which works well for general remote tasks like calls, messaging, and light work. It’s reliable most of the time, but as in any rural area, it can occasionally vary depending on weather or conditions. We also have a power backup system, so basic connectivity and daily activities can continue even during outages. Right now, this is not a full coworking space — it’s a home environment with quiet areas to focus, read, or work when needed. This experience is less about “perfect productivity” and more about: ✨ Living in nature ✨ Slowing down ✨ Contributing to something meaningful ✨ Finding a healthier rhythm between work and life If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay connected while being part of a hands-on, evolving project — this could be a great fit.

Can possibly accept pets
Yes, we are completely pet friendly and have the best host, Matías.

How many Workawayers can stay?

My animals / pets
Matíass (6 years)
Matías is part of the heart of this place.
He’s a German Shepherd who has been with us since our Riverside Ecoliving days, and he’s grown up surrounded by people, nature, and community.
Despite his size, he’s:
✨ Very calm
✨ Gentle and friendly
✨ Sweet and easy to be around
He enjoys slow days, being close to people, and quietly observing everything that happens around him (like a true mountain guardian 🐕).
Volunteers don’t need any special skills — just:
Basic care and attention
Enjoying his company
Making sure he feels part of the daily rhythm
If you like dogs, you’ll probably end up becoming good friends with him very quickly.
