Experience working/exploring in the Great Bear rain forest of British Columbia, Canada. Our marina is located in one of the most stunning bays on the West Coast of B.C. We are a couple in their 50's and 60's who have lived off the grid for 30 years. Our small, seasonal marina has a sterling reputation in the boating world.
You would have the opportunity to see much wild life: whales, bears, mink, marten, seals and sea lions. Our unique life style is centered around the ocean, and all travel happens by boat. We have small kayaks to explore the bay, and there is good fishing nearby. If you want to learn about hydro power, solar power and alternative energy, we would be happy to share our knowledge!
We need help with routine maintenance and season start up. This would involve power washing, cutting back salmon berry bushes, painting, cutting fire wood and some dock repair. Best months to visit would be: April, May, June and September.
Small cabin which accommodates four people. It has a running water, limited power, some WiFi and a wood stove and cook stove. Showers are available in the main house. Meals would be provided.
Because we live in a remote location, travel to Kwatsi Bay marina may be affected by weather. We ask that you stay for a least a week.
