    Description

I have been living in the stunningly beautiful French Pyrenees since 2016 when I moved here from the UK .
I have a nice little house settled between two rivers not far from Castilon en Couserans.
Surrounded by forests and mountains with numerous hiking trails on the doorstep
There is around an acre and half of flat ground (very unusual here) including some woodland where my 2 sheep 3 dogs, chickens ducks and I spend our days and nights .

In recent years i have established a successful little semi self sufficient lifestyle based around a philosophy of permaculture and ecological principles .

There is always tasks to be done ,be it general maintenance or joyfully carrying out the ongoing tasks that such a lifestyle demands... caring for the animals and growing food and all that that entails .

  • Help

    Help

Mostly help with the permaculture side of things both assisting us here but also enabling a sharing of knowledge which is all important.
Everyone needs to know how to grow food and to do that with respect to the environment .
Help fixing fencing quite often needed and general tasks around the place .

    Accommodation

I have a 20m2 very well equipped newly renovated chalet .The chalet has a shower ,double bed gas hob fridge, woodburner...all you need to be comfortable .
I would prefer the traveller to fend for themselves as far as food is concerned but will provide the essentials and of course some meals .It's just I m a bit disorganised concerning food.I cook well but a bit sporadically .

  • What else ...

    What else ...

This area is for people who want to really feel they want to get immersed in nature .
It is very sparsely populated here and hasn't been impacted too greatly, yet by capitalism.
I moved here because if I want to, I am able to feel truly at one with nature .
It is the place to be if you enjoy hiking, camping under the stars and drinking from mountain streams .

There is a bus to St Girons once a day early in the morning so if you want to get around easily a car is needed although hitchhiking is very common here if that is something you are happy to do .
