  • Description

Our project is a community project aimed at enhancing sustainable urban life and social justice. We have 6000 square meters (about an are and a half) of land within a youth village for at risk children ages 6-18. When we started creating the project (March 2016) the land was covered with piles of garbage and endless thorns. With the help of hundreds of volunteers we cleaned the place and started planting a beautiful food forest with about 400 trees. We built two Geodesic domes that we use for workshops, yoga classes and community gatherings. We dug a small eco pond and constructed many ecological benches and play areas. We built an outdoor beautiful kitchen where we cook excellent fresh food from organic vegetables, herbs, spices and fruit that grow in the food forest. In 2019 we opened a beautiful workshop for natural cosmetics and soaps made from organic herbs from our forest. We hold many community events, festivals, seminars, workshops and other gatherings
Most of what is done here is with the help of hundreds of dedicated volunteers from Gan Yavneh. But we are also happy to host volunteers from around the world and invite you to join the special family of our project.

Natural cosmetics and soap making is also something you'll be able to learn. We are big experts in community building and working with volunteers and the extended community. If this is a field of interest for you- we can give most valuable information. practical methods of work and good tips.

  • Help

We need help with the food forest- taking care of the trees, adding compost and mulch, pruning and picking fruits and vegetables.

We also need help with building fences, constructing the pathways, taking care of the eco pond and the outdoor kitchen.

If you have carpentry skills- there is lots of work for you.

You can join us in making natural cosmetics and herbal soaps from local olive oil and our organic herbs.

If you are into arts we'll be happy to do ecological art projects with you. We'll try to give you a different kind of job every day to make your experience more interesting and fun.
