    Description

    Hello there!

My name is Julian and I live in a small village just 30 minutes outside of the capital Tirana. This is the perfect spot to relax and turn dreams into reality. Together, we are working to develop and turn our land into something special.
The forest-like land is full of possibilities for sustainable living. I plan to take full advantage of this by utilizing techniques such as natural methods, renewable energy technologies, and organic farming. Three of the upcoming projects are a cob house, a tree house, and a natural swimming pool.
I want to be able to utilize the local land as much as possible and create something that can benefit the community.
My vision is to create a complex of closed-loop systems, that feed off each other and create a sustainable, organic food source.
We know that we can achieve our goals with a bit of love, hard work, and dedication.

// For volunteers who are interested in a LONG-TERM stay in Tirana: //

If you are considering a longer stay in Albania, there are more opportunities to get involved and experience the cultural richness of my homeland. I also offer the possibility to stay at my guesthouse in Tirana, just a few minutes from the city center.

There are several options (ask me if you are interested in other possibilities), the main project is:

SUSTAINABLE LIVING PROJECT in the countryside

The main tasks include tending and watering the many vegetables and young trees, landscaping and gardening, cooking and sharing meals, and staying on track for long-term sustainability. Keeping the shared spaced clean and orderly, and other general maintenance tasks.

If you have experience with Cob houses, tree houses, or creating in-ground pools (local materials), then this project might be perfect for you! Of course, we have a wide range of projects that require many types of knowledge so there is something for everyone.

This is a great opportunity to sustainably work the land and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Albanian countryside.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Volunteers can benefit from a cultural exchange by broadening their understanding of different cultures and customs. They can learn about different approaches to sustainable living, and can also learn various skills including martial arts, and a variety of technical skills, since I am eager to share personal skills and knowledge.

With this experience, volunteers can gain a greater appreciation for different cultures and lifestyles, as well as the skills to apply them in their own lives. They can also gain valuable insight into the unique challenges and opportunities that come with living sustainably and adapting those practices to their own circumstances.

    SUSTAINABLE LIVING PROJECT

My land has a number of projects underway that require a variety of skills from our community members in order to be successful. We are in need of people with experience in problem solving, farming, and practical skills who can bring their knowledge to our projects.

The projects on range from utilizing natural methods to organic farming. Those who are experienced in with hands-on skills will help us to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all to enjoy.

Those with gardening and farming skills will help us to achieve our goal of creating a sustainable garden system that can supply fresh, healthy produce. This will also be used to teach people how to grow their own fruits, veggies, and herbs at home.

Your skills and experience can make a huge difference in our community. We encourage anyone who is passionate about making a sustainable difference to get involved in our projects.

We also have a variety of other opportunities, some with money earning potential. So please ask if you are interested!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

I love to go on adventures! Whether it's a hike in the woods, a drive on the quad, or a motorbike ride along the coast or off-road, there's nothing like exploring the great outdoors.
I have explored a lot since I bought the land and found many hidden gems in the surroundings, there are a lot of beautiful places for hiking and exploring just near the property, high peaks from which you can see all the mountains and hills and villages, ancient ruins, lakes and an amazing river with natural swimming pools just a few minutes from our home.

I am an experienced guide who has done many off-road tours and I will be happy to take volunteers on some adventure trips they won't forget.

During the hot summer days, I always go for a quick swim at the natural pools just to cool down, and everyone is free to join!
We also offer rides with our four-wheel quad and motorbike.

The bus stop is not far from the property, and whoever feels like going to visit Tirana can catch the bus, there is also a stop at TEG shopping center (where you can find bars, restaurants, shops, fast food, cinema).
If I am available then I can offer a car ride instead.

I have over 15 years of experience as a martial art trainer and a black belt in jiu-jitsu, so there will be private lessons for everyone who is interested in learning not only jiu-jitsu but also self-defense and Balintawak (self-defense with sticks and knives). I can also teach you how to play music: guitar, ukulele and mandolin.

Of course, I am happy to share stories, history of the Illyrian peninsula, and my native language of Shqip (Albanian).
