We are a fishing lodge located in Wood Buffalo, Northern Alberta, surrounded by wilderness. It is a great lake for fishing Northern pike and Walleye, as well as other types of fish. At the lodge we can host around 50 guests at a time, in individual cabins, 1 & 2 bedroom suites, full service rooms in the main lodge building. We also have a Wilderness camp with 5 wall tent cabins. Our lodge is the perfect place for anyone who loves lake fishing, or just want to get out in nature - far away from city life.
Helpers coming to join our team will experience life at a remote camp where guests come to relax and enjoy nature. You get lots of experience talking and assisting guests daily, which will be great for anyone looking to improve their English. You also get to work and live together with our great staff team, potentially new friends for life.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
We are looking for friendly and open-minded individuals to help mainly at our dock, where you assist our guests when heading out fishing in the morning and coming back during the day and in the evening. You get to be outdoors a lot, and meet lots of friendly and excited fishermen. Occasionally you will get to help with other tasks around the lodge; easier maintenance work, mowing, gardening, painting etc.
The accommodation for helpers consists of a private room, and a private bathroom or a bathroom shared by two staff members. The rooms all have a comfortable queen size bed, a TV, a wardrobe and a nightstand.
Whenever you have time off at the lodge you can go fishing, either from the shore or, if available, take one of the boats out on the lake. We also have kayaks and a paddle boat to use. It is possible to walk or go for a jog up the gravel road, as long as you are aware of the bears and bring bear spray with you.
