    Description

We are a family of two. My husband and I live together in Wezep in the Netherlands. We have no pets and no children. My husband Onur is a product designer and I am a recruiter. We both work from home. We live in a house with a small garden. In our own vegetable garden we grow tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lettuce, rocket, parsley, parsley, courgettes, etc. We may need support in watering and maintaining this vegetable garden. We also need help with simple daily household chores.

We have lived in Australia and Turkey for many years before. We have been living in the Netherlands since 2022. We love meeting people from different cultures and listening to their stories. I personally love cooking, I am especially enthusiastic about pastries, we can bake meals, cookies, breads together if you like. We look forward to listening to your travel stories, the path that life has drawn you and your memories.

In Wezep there is a beautiful big forest 10 minutes walk away. We love to walk there. There are also very nice routes where you can cycle with wonderful views. We live a quiet life here. On weekends we are often out to discover new places, meet friends or go shopping. During the weekdays we are mostly at home. During the day we go to the forest for short walks or take short walks in our neighbourhood. The city centre for shopping is only 4 minutes walk from us. We are 2 minutes walk from the health centre. There are many options for shopping in our neighbourhood, it is also possible to find many cafes, pizzerias and restaurants.

We provide 3 meals. We would like to eat together as much as possible. We think that this gives us the opportunity to chat and share more. When we work, we may not be able to join you, especially for breakfast and lunch. However, you can always use the kitchen and prepare your own meals with the ingredients we provide. We can always be together for dinner:)

We can have a tour around the city. We can share our travel story and would love to hear your about experiences :)
We lived in Australia and Turkey for many years and now we live in the Netherlands. We had the chance to visit many different countries. We can chat about the cultural richness and differences between countries. If you are interested we can talk about Turkish food culture and cook some dishes together. I am especially good at pastries and I love them very much. We may have a chance to have a deep conversation with you about how a good pizza dough should be hahaha :) I am also interested in the ways about cooking and baking for people who have no skills or time. I have many recipes and I can share them. For example, I have a very good bread dough recipe that I can share with you.

We can also talk about Dutch culture and make cultural trips. Zwolle 15 min, Deventer 30 min, Amersfoort 40 min, Giethoorn 40 min, Volendam 1 hour 20 min, Amsterdam 1 hour 30 min, Utrecht 1 hour away. We can drop you off with our own car, if we are available, we can make sightseeing tours together.

Apart from travelling and eating, I am personally interested in psychology and my husband Onur is good at gardening, vegetable growing and permaculture. We can also share on these subjects.

  • Help

    Help

We need help for our house renovation and daily house tasks. It’s only changing the floors, simple renovation tasks inside the house, and some painting. We generally expect our volunteers to help for an average of 3-4 hours a day, 4-5 days a week. Also we expect you to take care of your own room and contribute to keeping general areas tidy and clean. In return we provide sleeping accommodation and 3 meals a day 7 days a week. We are flexible about our volunteers helping hours. :)

And my husband is improving his English. If you are a volunteer whose native language is English, and maybe with some teaching experience, you can help us in this regard instead of renovation :)
