Hello,
My name is Eva and I have an organic garden in Santillana del Mar , Cantabria (northern Spain ) .
It is a private property and I produce for the own consumption of family and friends.
The truth is that it is a beautiful place that you love to hear .
I wish you'd come to learn and konw about the countryside culture from Cantabria
About my family,.. I live with my fiance Arturo, my son Alberto that is 14 years old and muy daughter Julia that is 3 years old. Furthermore, my father come everyday to help me a little because there are many things to do..
Furthermore, I am starting a small project in eco tourism.
On the other hand, I work as a journalist in an agrarian organization, so many mornings I had to go to work and then fly to feed my son, take him to activities and do homework. From what you can imagine that it is a little stressful life. However, I am happy with what I do.
The idea is that you can help me in some easy tasks.
While, you can see how is the life en our organic farm situated in the countryside, but very near Santillana del Mar and Altamira Caves.
In our home, we greatly value cultural exchange and learning opportunities. We love interacting with our visitors, sharing our experiences, and learning from theirs. During your stay, we invite you to participate in various activities in the garden and the daily life of our family. Our main idea is to promote mutual understanding and cultural enrichment. Besides learning about organic farming techniques and ecotourism, we also hope to learn from you and your culture. Our family strives to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can feel part of our community. Together, we can share meals, stories, and unforgettable moments.
The stay would be spent in a bungalow house that I have next to my house, in the garden. This has 2 bedrooms, living room-kitchen and bathroom. It is a very cozy little house from my point of view.
It has everything you need to live: all kitchen tools, towels, blankets, sheets, toilet paper, ... Ready to move into comfortably.
Then, the food, we give you everything or that you need to be produced on the farm (seasonal vegetables, eggs, milk meat, ...). The rest of the meal would be your responsibility, but I think we are very self-sufficient.

Mi nombre es Eva y tengo un huerto orgánico en Santillana del Mar, Cantabria (norte de España).
Es una propiedad privada y produzco para el propio consumo de familia y amigos.
La verdad es que es un lugar hermoso que te encantará conocer.
Me gustaría que vinieras a aprender y conocer la cultura del campo de Cantabria.
Sobre mi familia ... vivo con mi pareja Arturo, mi hijo Alberto que tiene 14 años y mi hija de 3 años.
Además, estoy comenzando un pequeño proyecto en ecoturismo.
A parte, yo trabajo como periodista en una organización agraria, por lo que de lunes a viernes por las mañanas tengo que ir a trabajar y luego volver para dar de comer a mi hijo, llevarle a actividades y hacer deberes. Por lo que podeis imaginar que es una vida un poco estresante. No obstante, estoy contenta con lo que hago.
La idea es que me puedan ayudar en algunas tareas fáciles.
Mientras tanto, puede ver cómo es la vida en nuestra granja orgánica situada en el campo, pero muy cerca de las cuevas de Santillana del Mar y Altamira.
En nuestro hogar, valoramos enormemente el intercambio cultural y las oportunidades de aprendizaje. Nos encanta interactuar con nuestros visitantes, compartir nuestras experiencias y aprender de sus vivencias. Durante tu estancia, te invitamos a participar en diversas actividades del huerto y la vida diaria de nuestra familia. Nuestra idea principal es promover el entendimiento mutuo y el enriquecimiento cultural. Además de aprender sobre técnicas de agricultura orgánica y ecoturismo, también esperamos aprender de ti y de tu cultura. Nuestra familia se esfuerza por crear un ambiente cálido y acogedor, donde puedas sentirte parte de nuestra comunidad. Juntos, podremos compartir comidas, historias y momentos inolvidables.
La estancia la pasarías en una casita tipo bungalow que tengo junto a mi casa, en el jardín. Ésta cuenta con 2 habitaciones, salón-cocina y baño. Es una casita muy acogedora desde mi punto de vista.
Cuenta con todo lo necesario para vivir: todas las herramientas de cocina, toallas, mantas, sábanas, papel higiénico,... Esta lista para que entres a vivir cómodamente.
Luego, la comida, te regalamos todo o que necesites que se produzca en la finca (verduras de temporada, huevos, leche carne,...). El resto de comida correría a tu cargo, pero creo que somos muy autosuficientes.

Durante tu estancia, te pediré que me ayudes con tareas sencillas en el huerto y en la casa. Algo sencillo, no como un obrero profesional evidentemente. Algunas de las actividades incluyen regar las plantas, recolectar verduras de temporada, alimentar a los animales y mantener el jardín en buen estado. También podrías colaborar si quieres, en el cuidado del huerto durante los fines de semana, cuando estoy en casa, para que podamos trabajar juntos y compartir conocimientos sobre agricultura orgánica. A cambio, te ofrecemos la oportunidad de aprender sobre la vida en el campo y experimentar la rica cultura de Cantabria. Además, esperamos que disfrutes de la convivencia con nuestra familia y te sientas parte de nuestra comunidad.

During your stay, I will ask you to help me with simple tasks in the garden and around the house. Something simple, obviously not like a professional worker. Some of the activities include watering the plants, picking seasonal vegetables, feeding the animals, and keeping the garden in good condition. You could also collaborate, if you want, in taking care of the garden during the weekends, when I am at home, so that we can work together and share knowledge about organic agriculture. In return, we offer you the opportunity to learn about life in the countryside and experience the rich culture of Cantabria. Furthermore, we hope you enjoy living with our family and feel part of our community.

La estancia la pasarías en una casita tipo bungalow que tengo junto a mi casa, en el jardín. Ésta cuenta con 2 habitaciones, salón-cocina y baño. Es una casita muy acogedora desde mi punto de vista.

During leisure, volunteers can take beautiful walks in the area or they can also go down to Santillana del Mar, which is very close.
Also, as I am continually going to Torrelavega (nearby city), you can go with me and take the opportunity to run errands and then go home with me.
Durante el tiempo libre, los voluntarios pueden darse bonitos paseos por la zona o también pueden bajar a Santillana del Mar que está muy cerca.
Además, como yo estoy continuamente yendo a Torrelavega (ciudad cercana), pueden ir conmigo y aprovechar para hacer recados y luego subir a casa conmigo.

Eva y su familia son auténticos y buena gente. Ayudé en la huerta, dando de comer a las vacas y en el mercado. El trabajo está siempre bien organizado y agradecen la ayuda.
Las vacas son muy chulas y los perros, Luna y Leon, son muy simpáticos y no se cansan de hacer compañía.
