Description
We live in the self builders area in Almere Oosterwold. Half of our plot is urban agriculture, so it is very green. We have designed it with permaculture and foodforest ideas in mind. My boyfriend and I are building our house from the ground up with mostly natural materials: timber and hempcrete. We have a very green neighbourhood with a strong community. Our neighbours are great people.
We could use help with small building projects around the house, such as making a wood storage. We are building the house ourselves. You don't need to work on that, but we can share our experiences. If you are more into gardening then there is also plenty to do and learn. Preparing vegetable beds, creating borders for the veggie garden (willow weaving or wood), sowing, planting, harvesting, preserving the produce, and eating it :)
My boyfriend is into photography, welding and computing. I work as a data analist and in my spare time I love to garden, cook, and work on small diy projects (e.g. drawing, sewing, basket weaving, wood cutting, etc). We can share our knowledge about these things with you. In the weekends we work on our house. We have a cat called Bertje.Types of help and learning opportunities

We can share our knowledge with regards to natural building materials, gardening, welding and cooking. Furthermore, we can share our knowledge about computer related stuff, such as photoshop and programming in Python. We expect you to speak a bit of English (or Dutch), but you can improve your English or Dutch with us as well.
My boyfriend is interested in global politics. Me not so much, but I'm interested in international cuisines. It would be nice to talk about these topics. Our neighbors are very nice people. You will most likely run into them.Help
We could use help with our vegetable garden, and things around the house, such as sorting fire wood, and small build projects. We have a couple of ideas for build projects in the garden, such as building a wood storage, creating borders for the vegetable gardens, etc. Sometimes there are projects that you can work on yourself, other times we work together. We welcome your own ideas for projects.

You will sleep in a large mobile home. As soon as the living room is empty you will have a relatively large space with a wood stove. We have lived in this caravan ourselves for a few years. The bathroom and kitchen in the caravan are shared with us, because we need to finish the plumbing in our house. There is a compost toilet in the bathroom. If we take turns emptying it, then everyone is happy.
I love to cook, and I cook upfront, so there is plenty of food in the freezer. If you prefer to cook your own meal, then that is also an option. You do not need to cook for us, but if you are a really good cook then I would love to learn from you. We can also take turns when it comes to food. What else ...
The area we live in is quite special. It is really nice to explore the area by bike. We are a bit further away from public transport, but if you take the bike to a bus or railway station then you can easily go to cities, such as Amsterdam and Utrecht. I can also give you a lift to Amsterdam, because I work there. By car that is only 30 minutes.
