Description
We are a family with three children, aged 10, 15 and 18, originally from Germany and America. We recently moved onto a beautifully situated 46 acres site where we are in the process to establish our hobby farm, garden and a respite care house for people with special needs. We have 17 alpacas, 6 goats, 40 sheep with lambs, 6 chickens, 2 dogs and 4 cats.
We are gradually introducing bio-dynamic methods to the garden and farm. We moved into a new build house 2 years ago, but it still needs a lot of work inside and outside.
At present we are looking for someone who is good at building sheds and digging in the garden.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
During your stay you will get to know a few people who live and think slightly different than main stream society. There is a rich cultural life in the area, particular to mention is the Festival of traditional Irish music from the 8th to the 13th of August.
You will gain experiences growing organic vegetables, taking care of sheep, goats and alpacas, some basic building work and the general joys and sorrows and the occasional stress of setting up a smallholding, building a house and taking care of a family.
We expect workawayers to help a little bit with household tasks additional to the normal helping hours.Projects involving children

The dramatic west coast (Cliffs of Moher) is 1 1/2 hours away and a bit closer is a fascinating limestone landscape with ancient monuments and an abundance of wild flowers.
