In this moment we are mainly looking for people who have skills with installing windows, cables for water and electricity.
Ladies & gentlemen!
Allow me to present the house of my family. We are a crosscultural family who lives in the small town of Kokkedal, 25 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. My mother was born in Poland, but moved to Denmark when she was 18 years old. Here she managed to get a degree in production design and scenography. She has worked with childrens theatre, film and design, also she accommodat and hosted people on another website, so she know what it's like to have other people staying around. Her biggest achievement however, was to give birth to two wonderful children, me (Jacob, 22) and my brother Balthazar (20).
Both of us have a curious spirit, always seeking for new adventures. I have bicycled from Denmark to the north of Norway and my brother has hitchhiked all over the world. The thing is though that now my mother is looking for some help with renovating a new house and some gardening work in our current house, which she sees as a great opportunity to offer some travellers a bit of comfort meanwhile meeting people from all over the world. Our house is located 3 km from the sea with several beautiful forrest nearby. The house is divided in two parts with shared kitchen, livingroom and bedroom for my mother, in one part and another part with own entrance, bathroom, 3 bedrooms and even a small living room, where you can have privacy if that is needed.
If you want to reach Copenhagen there are several great opportunities. My favourite way to reach is by hitchhiking - there's a great spot from where I rarely wait more than 5 minutes to be taken directly to Copenhagen. This is a great way to have some fun and excitement while transporting yourself, but also a great way to interact with other danish people. However we will provide a bicycle to you which you can use to go on adventure. Denmark is known for its bicycle culture so if you want to feel very danish you take the bike all the way to Copenhagen! There is also the opportunity of taking the train which cost around 40 DKK and takes around 30 minutes. Also my mother is often going to Copenhagen so it might be possibly to "hitchhike" with her once in a while. So if you want to stay with an adventurous family in a house close to loads of cultural and natural sites this is the place for you!

You can learn about the extraordinary story of my mother who came to a culturally completely different country without anything, but despite managed to build up her great empire muhahahaah. No really she just managed to start a new life with all basic included. Also my brother and I have some great stories to share about how to travel without money, the benefits of it and how we as humans are here to help each other gain the best possible life. In this area of Denmark there are plenty of museums and historical sites also known as the Royal north Sealand with plenty of castles to visit. The great modern art museum Louisiana is situated only 10 km from here and my mother has a yearly membership where she can bring one person for free. For the nature loving people there is one of the biggest lakes and forrest called Gripskov close by, with great opportunities for wild camping. Come and get inspired!
Every kind of help will be highly appreciated, whether you can help as a carpenter or never had any experience with handcraft before. We are renovating an sommer house and so far the outside of the house has been done, therefore we now need to finish bathroom, floor, kitchen etc. Also a lot of materials needs to be taken to the recycling station and small projects in the garden are still underway. There will be a task for you regardless of your skills and we would love to provide food and accommondation for you, while you stay with us. You can stay for a few days or for a few months, it doesn't matter for us - the important thing is to meet new people and help travellers to leave Denmark with the best possible experience.

You will have your own room with shared bathroom between you and potentially other workawayers. There will be food in the fridge, otherwise we will togather cook dinner every evening and also provide food for breakfast and lunch.
My mother wants to build this house to live a more self-sustainable life. The house that we live in now is to big when my brother and I are leaving for adventures. Also the rent for the new house is cheaper which allows her to focus more on art related work and enjoying the nature.
