Update june 2026
I still have opening for workawayers in june from now-19 june.
Workaways in july-aug: we will all stay and sleep in our small gardenhouse/tent. Most of the summerperiod the children will not be at home, but on camp or vacation.
There will be limited wi-fi (or non) because there is no wi-fi in the gardenhouse. At home wifi is sometimes limited.
We are a small family living in Aalborg.
Our home consists of my 2 children 12, 17and me, 49year-old mom and ocationally 1-2 workayaers We are hoping to soon welcom our next workayer, maybe its you?
we have a alotment garden (kolonihave) approx 3 km from our home, where we enjoy the garden from April-oct.
We enjoy learning to know other people, swimming, playing board games and cards, and watching family movies.
Mom wishes help with :
help in the house or garden, and someone who loves to cook. My oldes child is adult and live by herself. Sometimes the tasks can be helping her organizing, painting…..
My youngest son is 12 and love to have a big brother or sister to play physical games, football, or you Can teach him your favourite dish, sport, instrument/Music, yoga….
He is a sea-scout. Other interest is tv, chess, card games…
My middle child is 17 years old/ teenager under construction - we will find out what he likes occationaly
During the weekdays the kids are in school (5 and 10 grade). In the weekends and School-vacation they are home. School vacation in Denmark is from end june until 2nd week of august.
🇫🇴 I am originally from the Faroe Islands, which means the children's and my family/relatives live in the Faroe Islands 1400 km away from Denmark.
Daily we speak Faroese at home, but we all speak fluently Danish, and we all speak english 💬

Since we are a family with children, I require that workawayers who apply:
- show concern and manners with alcohol and smoking
- because of allergi I hope workawayer will limit their use of parfume or in general limits spray parfume products or other spray products. You Can put it on outside

If you are motivatet for Daily outdoor-exercise, you can challange yourself to walk or run up the stairs with 242 steps less than 200 m from our home :o
In the period April-October you will have the opportunity to learn and help with garden work, greenhouse, fishpond, and just general maintenance and care in the garden and gardenhouse.

Help
As a single mom where all family lives far away and the children's father is away for long period at a time I need help to make our family-life just a little more fun and easy with more spare hands
I would welcome any help with especially:
- spend time with the children
- Cooking
- help in the house with laundry, vacuum-cleaning, cleaning, dishwashing, clean the car....
- in the summertime april-okt also al kind of gardening work from digging holes, cutting hedge to picking berries, painting, maintenace, clean the House
- basically just be the extra spare hands I often need in our daily life
It is not required, but our family hope to welcome workawayers who:
- loves to cook or help cooking
- likes to be physically active with children fx play football, games ...
- are social and can talk in a language we speak -

Accommodation
We live in an small apartment.
We are social and would be great to share our daily life with others. We will share living room/kitchen, 1 bathroom and other facilities in the apartment
In the winter-period (sept-march) we spend all our time in the apartment.
The accommodation for workawayers will be a bedroom with a single bed
If there is more than 1 workawayer they share the bedroom (matres on the floor).
In the summer-period (may-sept) our family (or mostly me and wa) spends daytime in our garden-house doing some kind of gardenwork
The gardenhouse is 50m2 with only 1 bedroom. Acomondation for workawayers in the period april-sept. can be:
- at home with us
- update 2026 end june/july/august: we are all in the gardenhouse - workawayers will sleep in a tent. Most of the summer the boys will be on summercamp, with their father or other activity. -

🏙 Aalborg is with its 135.000 inhabitants the 4 largest city in Denmark. Aalborg is a city with a lot of young people studying, so there are a lot of offers and possibilities for young people. Aalborg has everything you need and has a lot of opportunities for activities:

We live approx 2 km from city center. Public transport in Denmark is quite good, and buses stop 400 m from our home.
Aalborg has an international airport you can travel directly to or from Aalborg to some other European countries. If you planning to arrive with an aeroplane, then please check the price to go directly to Aalborg from your destination.
It takes about 4-5 hours to travel from Copenhagen airport (Kastrup) to Aalborg with car or train and approx 3 hours from Billund airport. check prices for the train on DSB website or Flixbus for cheap bustickets.
I will mostly be able to Pick workawayers up from Aalborg airport or bus/trainstation.
