    Description

In late 2022, my wife Andra and I traded our city routines for a quieter, more creative life in rural south‑west France, where we now live with our two affectionate cats. I’m gradually learning the rhythms of countryside living after years in an international career, while Andra fills our home with colour as an oil painter working from her light‑filled studio.

We’re slowly shaping our garden into a welcoming, nature‑friendly space. Nothing professional or advanced - just a simple, evolving garden where bees, butterflies, and vegetables can thrive. We’d love to share this journey with Workawayers who enjoy being outdoors and don’t mind giving a hand with light, everyday tasks around the house and garden.

In exchange for 4 hours a day , 5 days a week of help, we provide lunch during the whole duration of the stay and ingredients to cook your own dinners. If the weather is kind, we also try to organise at least one shared evening meal on the terrace, enjoying good food and the quiet of the countryside together.

Next to our house we have a small holiday rental that we normally use for family and friends, and occasionally rent out during the summer season. When we host Workawayers, this space becomes your accommodation—comfortable, private, and completely free. The help we ask for in exchange for meals and your stay is not related to the holiday rental, which isn’t run as a business. Your contribution is simply for our own private garden and the everyday tasks that keep this place growing gently and naturally.

For us, hosting is really about cultural exchange, meeting new people, and sharing the peaceful rhythm of life near the historic Château, just south of Monflanquin. We enjoy cooking together, chatting over meals, discovering each other’s backgrounds, and exchanging stories, skills, and inspiration.

There’s no commercial project here—just two people building a home, a garden, and a meaningful connection with those who come to stay.

If you’d like to spend some time in the countryside, learn new things, and contribute in a relaxed, collaborative way, we’d be happy to welcome you. 🌱

There are plenty of activities in and around Monflanquin. Cosy restaurants and in the summer season evening markets. We are close to the Lot where you can go canoeing. There are walking trails, horse-riding, golf, etc.. We like to learn from you about your culture, food and gardening knowledge. We can share our experience with the Italian kitchen, sous vide cooking and art.

Gardening in the broadest sense of the word. This might include watering, weeding, planting a few things together, helping with compost, or offering creative ideas if you feel inspired. We’re happy to show you what we’ve learned so far, and we’re equally excited to learn from your experiences and perspectives.
