  • Description

Important: This season we are only looking for handy volunteers with some building/carpentry experience! We are looking for people who don't mind to work hard and are interested in joining a unique circular building project.

We are a community in the north/east part of the Netherlands. It has been founded almost 50 years ago, and used to be one of the main hippie communities in the Netherlands!
Although life here is quite different from how it was 50 years ago, we still have many ideals and dreams in common, such as working towards self-sufficient and off the grid living, growing our own organic vegetables and fruits, and communicating with each other in an open and nonviolent way.

We are a group of 10 grown ups and 7 children. We all have our own house-hold and share meals once in a while (not on specific dates, just when we feel like :)

The community has sweatlodge area, a tipi, a big garden, a group-space, a meditation/yoga space, a small mushroom farm (we grow musrooms on coffee-left overs!) a small silence area with cosy caravan and a (wood fired) bakery.

Especially people with building skills, 2 right hands :) and permaculture/organic garden experience are very welcome!

On days that we don't eat all together, we ask wwoofers to cook their own food. Soon we will build an outdoor kitchen suitable for volunteers. We cook vegetarian meals and ask our guests to do the same.

In free time you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings, we live right next to a big natural area with forest, heather and small lakes. You can take a bike and visit the small towns or walk to the “hunebedden” one of the oldest remains of human kind.

Please send us an email if you are interested in joining!
Also if you have any questions, please ask!

We are looking forward to hear from you and share work, meals, campfires, songs, stories.... Welcome!

  • Help

This season we will focus mainly on the building of our new house. In june we are working on the foundation (not much experience needed, but it will be quite tough work!) In july its time for the wood frame. In this month we especially invite helpers with experience in building/carpentry. In august&september we will be building the walls, working with the straw and clay. And in oktober&november we'll finish of the walls, plastering and couvering the outside with wooden planks.
You are mostly welcome in our team! There will be around 10 volunteers ongoing, from all over the world. We are quite sure it will become an amazing experience.
Please consider if the tasks each month, as described above, is suitable for you.
The accommodation will be in caravans and our groupbuilding.
We will provide organic food, bongfires, warm showers and nice working vibes.
    See you soon!
