A man and woman in cowboy hats stand together smiling at a rodeo event, dressed casually with fencing, grass, bleachers, and an arena in the background.
Three cows are resting on a grassy field surrounded by green trees. Sunlight gently filters through the branches, creating a peaceful and serene rural scene.
A classic white and red Satoh tractor is parked beside a house. Nearby, two dogs and a cat are standing on green grass and gravel.
A gravel road stretches into the distance, flanked by green fields. A wooden gateway, trees, and a small building sit under a vast, dramatic sky.

    Description

Hi! My name is Claudia and I live with my husband Tom and our son Aaron on 7 acres in the middle of Saskatchewan. My main job is running a school bus, yes 😀 the yellow one, and I a proudly owner of a small and cozy dog kennel. People bring their dogs when they are on vacation or weekend trips. Tom works at a feedlot, Aaron works for a construction company. A few animals are joining us too!!! Two horses, a cow, two yearlings and two calves. Two dogs, four cats and two chickens ( they are the leftovers after the fox came for supper).
The next little village is 12km away, Saskatoon 75km. I love to be out in the country and enjoy that it's just peaceful and quiet. If you want to slow down, be surrounded by wonderful animals and not to talk to any humans as long as you want...this is your place 😊 ❤️.
We fell in love with this open land 12 years ago and decided to move to Saskatchewan from Germany three years later.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

It's definitely cowboy life. You can learn a different view about animals, ranching and life in general. We will live together like a family, using our own veggies and meat for the meals, doing chores together and having fun on the weekends ( rodeos, lake, boat, horseback riding, visiting friends where you can improve your language skills 😀). There's always something to do on a farm, but of course just enjoying nature and the animals is a big part of our life here as well.

    Help

It's always something to do...feeding the animals, cleaning up of course, gardening, riders are very appreciated lol...my pony is too chubby. Walking the dogs in the kennel, cuddling cats and cows and yard work. If you like to cook...the kitchen is all yours!

    Accommodation

We live in a old house with four bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room and one bathroom, what we would share. Since we have usually once or twice a year family or friends over from Germany, we are very used to deal with just one bathroom and it was never a problem at all 😉.
We are going to the city once a week/ 10 days for groceries, have our own garden veggies and our own beef and eggs. Homemade bread and cereals are just normal for us.
