    Description

We live in a peaceful idyllic village in the German countryside, between Berlin, Hamburg, and Hanover. Here we’re creating a home centered around community, nature, and a more conscious way of living.

Our household currently consists of four adults and four children. We are passionate about growing organic vegetables, caring for fruit trees, cooking wholesome vegan and vegetarian food, and learning how to live more sustainably. There is always something to do around the house and garden—from planting, harvesting and preserving food to small DIY and maintenance projects.

We’re looking for people who can support us with cooking, cleaning, organizing, and outdoor tasks—people who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and enjoy contributing to a shared home. You don’t need to know everything already—we’re happy to learn together. Curiosity, initiative, reliability, and kindness are much more important to us than experience.

Because family and community life changes throughout the year, we can’t host helpers all the time, but we’ll always try to be flexible whenever we can.

If this sounds like a place where you’d feel at home, we’d love to hear from you. Tell us a little about yourself, your interests, and what inspires you to travel.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are a multicultural household—a mix of German (Pascal), Austrian/Egyptian (Sarah), our daughter Maya, and our Romanian rescue dog, Vinnie.

We love meeting people from different cultures and believe that everyone has something to teach and something to learn. We enjoy sharing ideas, experiences, recipes, languages, and different perspectives on life.

We’re both hardworking, enjoy new challenges, and always have creative ideas and ongoing projects. During your stay, you’ll gain hands-on experience with organic gardening, vegan cooking, sustainable living, DIY projects, and life in a small rural community. Most of all, we hope to create a genuine exchange where we can learn from one another while shaping our home together.

In exchange for around 25 hours of help per week, we offer comfortable accommodation, access to mostly organic vegan food, and plenty of fresh vegetables from our garden when they’re in season.

The length of your stay is flexible. Depending on how well we get along and what works for everyone, it can be anywhere from two weeks to a year.

We’re looking for people who enjoy cooking healthy vegan meals for the household, as well as helping with cleaning, organizing and tidying, gardening, and general household tasks. If you have practical skills, there are also many opportunities to get involved in DIY projects, maintenance, and ecological or sustainability projects.
