I had a really brilliant week with Robyn and Roger in Bilgola Plateau. They were both very friendly, welcoming and instantly made me feel at ease in their home. Their dog is very sweet too! I had a very comfortable bedroom with sea 'glimpses' and a private bathroom as well.
I spent a few hours each day gardening: weeding, pruning shrubs and
… read more clearing green waste. I'm a professional gardener so found the work enjoyable but nothing was too strenuous and I was able to move my hours around to when best suited me and what time of day was coolest to work.
Robyn and Roger's house is in a really stunning location and I loved eating my breakfast on their balcony with views of the sea, palm trees and all the Aussie birds. It's an easy walk down hill to all the amazing beaches and buses are fairly regular to bring you back up and are a convenient way to get around. I was mostly interested in the beaches but I could see how easy it would have been to get into Sydney or visit Ku-ring-gai national park if I'd wanted to. Robyn and Roger were great at recommending local places for me to visit, we went for a couple of beautiful local walks together and we went out for dinner a couple of times too. I felt like I got a real feel for Aussie life whilst I stayed with them.
I would highly recommend this Workaway if you're looking for a peaceful week away, in what feels like a subtropical retreat, with two lovely people.

Felicity stayed with us for a week and it was a pleasure to have her with us. She worked hard in our garden everyday and took advantage of the beaches in her time off. She is easy going, honest and reliable. We shared stories and meals and experienced exactly what the Workaway exchange has to offer. We would have her back anytime.
