Description
Hey! I'm Lorna, I'm a 34 year old Irish woman who's been traveling around Central and South America for the last 2 years+.
My trip was only supposed to be 1 year here but I've loved it too much to leave! I've been living in hostels all this time and have made some great friends from all over world because of that. I love meeting new people and sharing experiences and cultures.
I love rock and metal music, dark humour and a good comedy. I learnt to scuba dive on my travels and I absolutely love it and go whenever I get the chance. I enjoy being in nature, whether it's the beach, jungle or mountains. I enjoy hiking also. I absolutely love dogs and will spend as much time with them as possible!
Mosquitos absolutely love me however it's not reciprocated.
My pre-backpacking life entailed a degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and I worked in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company for 10 years. Leading a shift of 10 people while running the systems, assembling and repairing equipment, troubleshootinging and liasing with other departments. I've left that stressful industry behind but I value all the skills and experience I gained from my time there.
Previous to this, I worked in bars, restaurants and hotels for a number of years to support myself while I was in college.
I'm a hard worker, not afraid to dig in and get a job done. I'm good with people and people-management along with a good sense of foresight and problem solving. I like to keep work and living areas clean and organised.
I'm excited to start some workaways so I can continue my adventures while also giving back to the travel and local communities.Interests
