Hi I am originally German, but have lived in the Outer Hebrides/the Isle of Lewis for 35 years. I am in my 60s and retired. I am trying to " think global and shop local" and produce as much of my own food as I can, but it's getting a bit harder after 2 knee replacements. I would love you to help me develop my allotment and help around the house and garden; maybe even cut peats. I used to teach English and can help with that (if you want). I live on the outskirts of Stornoway, central to exploring the Island, and am involved in the traditional boat scene. I am new to "workaway", but have been a couchsurfing and warmshower host for many years. So you can access my profile and references there.
I am an incomer to the Outer Hebrides, but I think that has given me a good insight into the local culture and I am happy to pass on as much of my local knowledge as I can. You could benefit from my English teaching skills, as formal or informal as you like.
The Islands are steeped in history but also incredibly beautiful. You will become a beach snob after staying for a while. The weather might be wet, cold and windy. But it's worth it.

You can have your separate room and share all other facilities. I assume that I would provide the food, but that we would share the cooking. I eat everything and am happy to accommodate your dietary preferences.
