Description
We are a couple in the beginning of our 30s and bought a little farm in the heart of Sweden. We come from South Africa and Germany but lived in Sweden many years now. Besides taking care of our dogs and horses we help out hourly in the older people’s care. We have no kids, but the animals often keep our full attention. We like to be outdoors as much as possible. Cooking outdoor, gardening and fishing are our points of relaxation. We are educated as animal trainers and gardener/ landscaper. Our food is vegetarian, but for us it’s no problem if you are vegans/ omnivores :)

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Here you can learn how to handle and drive sleddogs. A big bonus if you would like to work for a bigger tourist kennel later and earn some money with it. My partner is also a riding teacher, so riding/ horsetraining can be a skill you can learn/ improve here aswell. We live close to a very typical village for the Swedish countryside. This life you can explore, as the beautiful Swedish nature. We have many National parks and lakes around, but it is not too flooded by tourists.
Help
We have 2 horses and a couple of sleddogs. The whole year around we could need some help with the caretaking of our animals. In summer we renovate our small farm and try out, which plans and veggies do well in our area. In early autumn we collect berries for jam and mushrooms. In winter we drive with our dogs and train them for longdistance races. Horses and dogs need caretaking all year around It is not necessary that you bring a lot of skills with you, but it‘s helpful if you like being around animals and like to spend the days outside. On the farm we earn only money by renting out a house, but you will not be included in this process. So we are only looking for help for our private homestead and animals.

You stay in our new renovated and well equipped tinyhouse. It is located on the property and has a small kitchen, 2 beds and a couch. Bathroom we would share in our cabin and a outside toilet is provided. We can cook together or you cook on you own. In summer we like to eat and cook outside over the fire. The tiny house fits a couple, but if travel alone, it’s all yours. (See pictures)
What else ...
In your freetime you can explore the beautiful Swedish nature including mountain areas, Nationalparks, Lakes and Rivers. You can use one of our kanoes for this, go hiking, or biking. Fishing is also great in our area and we have equipment you can use for this. Our village includes a nice small grocery shop. Bigger stores and a great café are in our neighbouring village. In summer there is a bike park close by and in winter we have some charming skiing areas around. Both for alpine and cross-country. Couples or lonely travellers are both welcome. If you have pets, feel free to bring them with you! And we have a lovely hot tub outside wich you can use all year around.
