    Description

Hi Everyone! We are a family looking for people to help us in the completion and maintenance of a cabin that is in front of the sea on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, one hour from Tayrona Park and 10 minutes from Palomino. The cabin is in an area that is part of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta park. We are using bio construction because we believe in a sustainable lifestyle and because it is required by law. Our dream is to be able to finish our family house and create a sustainable place to receive visitors and make cultural exchanges. I am a language teacher, my partner Pedro is a travel guide. The house is in the process of building, but it is already habitable and a great place for hammocks and camping. We would like to have volunteers who have a passion for natural places and can contribute their skills and time to help find ways to make our house a cozy spot for travelers.

The cabin is in the Sierra Nevada park you can learn about the ancestral knowledge and culture of the indigenous people of the area ( Koguis, Aruhacos, Wiwas, Arsarios), as we are in close contact with them and knowledgeable of their ways, beliefs, and history. You can also learn about permaculture and bio-construction typical of the region.

Relaxed travelers love to stay in our place near the beach because it is natural, convenient and beautiful. There is a beach right in front of our cabin. There are a lot of things to do with your time off, as the area is very well known for its natural attractions such as rivers, mountains, beaches, and cultural heritage. We can help you move around the area and we offer guidance and stay for the ones interested in going up the Sierra Nevada to get to know the indigenous people and villages up in the mountains. The cabin is near a town called Palomino ( 5 minutes by car) where you can find hotels, bars, restaurants, souvenirs, and crafts as well as many more travelers.
