    Description

My name is Manolo, and I live in a beautiful indigenous community in Santa Clara La Laguna. I am passionate about language, animals, culture, and human connection. One of my dreams is to create meaningful experiences for people from around the world through our guest house project.

Our guest house focuses on wellness, peace, and cultural immersion.
We want visitors to disconnect from stress and reconnect with nature, silence, and themselves. Guests can enjoy the beauty of the lake, the mountains, healthy food, meditation spaces, and authentic community experiences.
At the same time, our project has a social mission, part of our work is dedicated to supporting local education and helping young people in our community learn English and develop new opportunities through tourism and cultural exchange. We believe that hospitality can also become a bridge for growth, learning, and positive change.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

At our place, cultural exchange is a very important part of the experience. Volunteers will have the opportunity to live closely with a local indigenous community in Santa Clara La Laguna and learn about our traditions, language, food, daily life, and worldview.
We love sharing stories, local history, traditional cooking, community activities, and the connection we have with nature and Lake Atitlán. At the same time, we are excited to learn from the experiences, ideas, languages, and cultures that volunteers bring from different parts of the world.
We believe cultural exchange should feel authentic and human — not just tourism, but a genuine connection between people.

We are looking for kind, open-minded, and responsible volunteers who genuinely enjoy cultural exchange and community life. At our wellness guest house, we value respect, creativity, communication, and positive energy.

Volunteers may help with activities such as social media, English practice, gardening, wellness activities, community projects, share creative ideas that can support the growth of the space, support workshops, hosting and welcoming guests.

We also hope volunteers are interested in learning about our local culture and connecting with the community in a meaningful way.

In exchange, we offer a peaceful environment surrounded by nature, cultural immersion, opportunities for personal growth, and the experience of living near one of the most beautiful lakes in Guatemala.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We especially appreciate volunteers who are adaptable, respectful, and interested in meaningful experiences rather than luxury tourism. Life in our community is peaceful and simple, and we encourage a lifestyle connected to nature, mindfulness, and cultural respect.

Our project is still growing, so volunteers who enjoy contributing ideas, creativity, and positive energy are always welcome. This experience can be a great fit for people interested in wellness, languages, community work, art, spirituality, sustainable living, or cultural exchange.

We also recommend that volunteers arrive with an open mind and a desire to learn from both the beauty and the simplicity of life near Lake Atitlán and the mayan community.

Our place can also be a great environment for digital nomads looking for a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere near Lake Atitlán. The area is quiet, surrounded by nature, and ideal for creative work, reflection, writing, online teaching, or remote projects. We try to maintain a flexible and respectful environment where volunteers can balance their responsibilities with their personal projects and remote work. Internet access is available, although sometimes the connection can be slow due to the rural location and weather conditions around the lake. Because of this, the space is better suited for people who are adaptable and comfortable with a slower and more mindful rhythm of life. Many guests find the natural environment deeply inspiring, peaceful, and mentally refreshing.
