Description
We are a french couple that built a small ecolodge in the middle of nowhere in the province of Inhambane, Mozambique. Located between the Indian ocean, the coastal forest and the dunes, we can host up to 14 guests which enable us to offer a tailor made service. Being the only "business" around, we take care of everything for the guests: food and activities.
Last but not least, since the beginning, we work only with the communities around us. We employ on a pemanent basis 15 local people (maintenance, service, cleaning, restaurant). Generally speaking, we are very much involved in the village empowerment (mainly with the school) and we focus on local sustainable chains (working with local fishers, farmers etc..). Local is definitely our mainstream and any ideas that contribute to improve this dynamic is more than welcome.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The immersion in our remote area is - by itself - a learning! But also the special and long-term relations that we have with the people around us facilitate the cultural exchanges. Portuguese (or why not Chope!) language classes is an option. We can discuss about any idea that may arise and would fit our skills.
Help
Ideally, we look for skills, ideas and energy that can help our small lodge and thus "our" community thriving : social medias and communication strategy, kitchen and bar (for instance: sharing and or inventing recipes and know how- mostly vegetarian or seafood based), clients' activities (for instance: yoga classes or nature-based activities such as the creation of hunt game together with the staff), english lesson to our team ... We can discuss any idea that may arise from reading our presentation! For us, the reason for hosting a traveler is to share knowledges and skills related to our small lodge and not to substitute to the staff.

Accommodation
Close to the staff area, a room on a wooden deck overlooking the coastal forest. En-suite showers and dry toilets. Depending on the occupancy of our lodge, you can also be accommodated in a luxurious bungalow or semi luxury tent. Meals are prepared in the kitchen of our restaurant, when we have guests, the staff cooks for us all and when we don't have guests, we cook for ourselves.
What else ...
All the activities available to the clients are available for you: snorkelling gear, walks in the forest, kayak on the lake, bird watching etc .. For the ones who enjoy nature and walks, this is a perfect place. At 2 hours drive you can also spend some days in Tofo a fisher's village with many activities.
