    Description

Ray moved to Africa 13 years ago, to follow his dreams: to open up a hostel/motel/hotel for the flashpacker (backpacker with creditcard). He has been around the world several times and full with his experiences he thought: “this could be better!” Quality runs high on our standards. We would like to have sufficient stock and all should be functioning and well maintained. We do not like to sell a “no”. This isn’t the African way of doing business for most ;-) It is with reason we receive the Tripadvisor “certificate of excellence” ever since we’ve opened up. It still is and will be hard work to entertain our guests, coming up with new ideas. It is something that must not be underestimated and takes a lot of energy and flexibility.

We have 6 funky private cabins, 3 rooms (suites), 1 dormitory and 4 pre pitched tents (with light and power). We can host a maximum of 48 people.

Everything is based on music! Or as we say our self “we provide your soundtrack to make life just that little bit sweeter” Our cabins have been named after “influential” artists and we have several playlists for every moment of the day.

We have 10 employees running around:
    2 barmen
    2 kitchen staff
    2 maintenance
    1 gardener
    1 cleaning ladies
    2 security guards

You will learn how to work in an African environment, with local people and limited sources available. It can be challenging to explain modern tech to the local staff. They can learn you their way of living.

    About Tofo:
Think about paradise.... Captured it? Yes, that's Tofo! It is very tropical, Tofo is laying at the azure Indian Ocean. It still isn’t discovered by mass tourism and reasonably unexplored. The actual village of Tofo is very small, just a few streets. Due to its popular tourist activities (diving, surfing and beachlife) there’s quiet a few expats living here (approx 100). There are 4 diving schools, several hotels, backpackers and restaurants. The higher part/dune area of Tofo is called Tofinho, this a more spacious, less “hectic” and a lot greener than Tofo. This is where we are located, a 15min walk from Tofo market and a 5min walk from Tofinho beach. Which recently got voted as one of the top 10 best surfing spots of the world!
It is safe here, much safer than SA and as a woman you can walk here at night on the streets.
Tofo is world renowned for its diving: Whale sharks, manta Rays, dolphins and whales in season. You’ll all find it here. Almost all of our guests come to dive or surf.
