Description
We are a nonprofit multi-genre music festival held in early summer in the lovely Czech village of Siřem, about 80 km away from the capital Prague.
The upcoming 10th year of the annual festival will be linked to a significant milestone: the centenary of Franz Kafka, a famous writer, passing away. He lived in the location where the festival takes place and wrote there one of his masterpieces, "The Castle".
Beyond musical performances, the festival offers a diverse array of attractions including theater, exhibitions, and workshops. Our overarching mission is to champion independent alternative culture, providing a platform for talent including lesser-known bands ("before they're cool"), exhibiting artists, and theater groups.
The festival is fueled by a collective of enthusiastic volunteers, and each year evolves uniquely, ensuring a fresh experience while preserving the festival's distinctive spirit. We invite you to join us in 2024!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Volunteers discover unique Czech art, they build friendships and potential collaborations by connecting with fellow volunteers, artists, and attendees, as the people here usually speak pretty good English. Moreover, the town of Siřem, hosting the festival, share a close connection with the worldwide-known writer Franz Kafka, who lived there and wrote his story “The Castle”. The festival's theme revolves around one of his other masterpieces, "The Metamorphosis."
Help
The festival itself takes place from 28 to 30 June 2024, but help is also needed around this date.
Every pair of hands and feet is valuable to us! We need assistance not only with manual construction and decoration for the festival, but also with tasks such as selling and checking tickets, monitoring and providing art exhibitions, and more. We're open to anything, so don't hesitate to contact us as well!
Additionally, if a volunteer has any limitations (such as being unable to lift heavy objects), we can accommodate her*him and find suitable tasks that will fit their abilities.Languages spoken

Volunteers, like other organizers, will be accommodated in a tent city where drinking water and showers will be accessible. Tents can be provided if needed. Meals will be provided by our kitchen.
What else ...
Helpers can explore the picturesque surroundings, visit local sights such as the historic church, and enjoy nature walks. Additionally, they can take advantage of the nearby hop fields (we make our famous beer out of that!) for a unique agricultural experience or visit Prague for a taste of city life and cultural exploration.
Transport options include buses and trains connecting Siřem to nearby towns and cities, making it convenient for helpers to travel and explore the region. If you're arriving from Prague, we can arrange for transportation from Měcholupy or Žatec to ensure a smooth journey to our location in Siřem.A little more information
