Description
Hello,
At the moment there are a lot of changes - as we started our own free “democratic” school near Prague. We are one room short, so we cannot accept workawayers at the moment in our house.
We are already accepting workawayers living in a room at our school - they would help around school - either children / cleaning / general maintenance, during summer we could offer some jobs such as painting rooms and share it with helping in our households sometimes. . . The school is in Zdiby which is 10 mins by bus to the north of Prague. We are waiting for our profile to be approved as a host at the moment.
There will be 4 hours a day / 5 days a week work in exchange for free acommodation with free lunch during workdays. Free access to kitchen and bathroom, a spare room with double sofabed.
We're a family of 5. We live in a small house in a small town near Prague (40 mins to the centre), we have a non toxic household and me and the youngest are on GAPS protocol, the rest of the family eats mostly healthily too (no prefabricated / processed food, no additives, sugar free) meat, vegetables, fruit, helathy fats, nuts and dairy are the basis, but of course any other diet is not a big problem for us (sugar is always around house for my husband and visits , but vegans would probably suffer with us - we like vegan food, but eat eggs and meat daily). So if you want to learn about healthy lifestyle, non toxic household, visit beautiful country with historical sites, mountains, forests and other natural beauties and be within reach of capital, come and stay with us. We' re happy to share our culture, language and you're welcome to travel with us to different places in our republic.
We all speak Czech, me and my husband English, the kids are learning, and I also speak intermediate French. I used to work as an English teacher and later as a DoS and a teacher trainer, now I'm at home with kids, so if somebody is interested in teaching, I can help with contacts to language school here in the Czech republic for example if you decide to stay longer and earn some money or decide to do a TEFL course ;) -

Help
We’re looking for an active, friendly person who enjoys being around children and doesn’t mind helping around the house.
All the kids are at home, so the main part of the exchange is a mix of **housework and spending time with the girls** – playing with them, keeping an eye on them while I’m cooking or busy, and helping to keep the house tidy. The girls are quite independent, so there’s no need for cooking, dressing or bathing them.
They are active and energetic, so this is probably not the right place if you’re looking for lots of peace and quiet or only want to babysit.
We have a small garden, and if you enjoy gardening, there are opportunities to help with that too. We also often visit our grandma’s house, where there is a larger garden.
We’d also love to share our culture and language with you. If you have something you’d like to teach the girls – yoga, music, drawing, games from your country, or anything else – that’s always welcome, but absolutely not required. -

Accommodation
You’ll stay with us in our family home and have your **own room with a large sofa bed**. Bathrooms are shared, and Wi-Fi is available. We’re easygoing and used to having people from different countries around – I also lived in London for a year and enjoy cultural exchange.
I cook every day and you’re welcome to eat with us. We usually have vegetables, meat, fruit, eggs and dairy, with traditional Czech meals often on the menu in a healthier version. You’re also welcome to cook for yourself or keep your own food if you have specific dietary needs. Water, tea and coffee are available.
We use **non-toxic household products** because of allergies in our family. Basic shampoo and soap are provided, and I can also do your laundry. **No smoking or perfumes in the house.**
There’s a small garden where you can relax, and the town centre, riverside and castle park are all within walking distance. Prague is about 15 minutes away and around 40 minutes to the centre by public transport, with plenty of sights, cafés, bars and shopping. -
What else ...
Go sightseeing, nature, bars, cafe, shopping. Everything is near.
Town centre with shops, market twice a week, castle, river side, horse stables, forest, cycle line....
Bus to Prague - a stop is 5 mins walk from the house; train station to other areas 15 mins. A lot of opportunities what to do / see - we're happy to take you with us, if we go somewhere by car. -
