    Description

I am a single mother who works, studies, and has horses on a property not far from home. I am interested in natural horsemanship and work in this area.

My two children are seven and eight and are delightful kids who love people and sharing our home with new friends.

We live on a small farm in rural Auckland, and spend a lot of time outside in summer, and with the horses, or just having fun.

I can provide some learning experience if you wish to learn more about horses, we are a welcoming family and very relaxed with what we require in exchange for you living here.

I am looking for someone to assist me with grooming, feeding and riding my horses over the coming winter and also to help me with my two young children possibly teaching them some of your first language. My horses are lovely and kind, and they need brushing, walking, and feeding. At present we can host people for up to two weeks, sometimes longer if the situation is right. I do need someone that is capable of haltering, leading, tying, and grooming a horse unassisted.

My children are 7 and 8, and I would love some help with someone just hanging out with them now and then and enjoying them so that I can get a bit of time free, and also sharing time together if you wish. The main childcare I require at this stage is babysitting at night and the children are asleep in bed. This may or may not be required it depends on if I am working or have something on during your stay!

We love meeting people and sharing our home with friends who become almost part of the family.

Over summer when the weather improves some help with fencing and collecting wood, chopping the odd tree down, and helping clear a track in the bush here would be wonderful.

January 2020 I will be going away for 4-5 weeks, so having people here in my house to keep it lived in and take care of my pets while I am away is also something I am looking for, but it is essential that you have your own vehicle. I also am looking for someone that can come with me for one week, and tend to my children for 3-4 hours each day from Feb 5 - 9 while we go on a camping trip in Wellington. I am undertaking some training and will require someone to care for my children for these few hours, and in exchange you are welcome to share the camping fun with us, and then if you need, I can take you back to Auckland when we go home.

If I do not reply to your email, please resend it to me. I will always reply, but sometimes I am human and miss the email or forget!

    Accommodation

We live in a small but very comfortable house in a rural area. You will have your own room in the house with us. Later in the year before summer there will be accommodation provided as a portacom, a room for you just outside the house for your privacy and there will be space for a couple there.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

THere are beaches, bushwalks, farm attractions, and shops all within a short drive from home here. If you want to look online, we are in Clevedon, and the close attractions are Maraetai Beach, Hunua Waterfall, Clevedon Scenic reserve, Duder Regional Park, Waitawa Regional park with hikes and a beautiful beach. We are a twenty minute drive from the closest shopping centre. There are other things such as a running track and a swimming pool near the shopping area too.

It's strongly advisable you have your own vehicle if you wish to stay and explore during the days, there is no public transport to or from, or in Clevedon. Unfortunately I am not in a position to provide a car or bicycle.
