    Description

I live on the southern edge of Dartmoor in Devon in South Brent, which is a very friendly, working village. My cottage is old (17th or 18th century) in the heart of the village and 3 minutes walk away from a beautiful river.
I am an interfaith minister and most of my work is with people who are dying and grieving. I also write and lead a threshold choir (we sing for people on the threshold of life).
I have been a widow for 7 years and I credit my lovely old dog for getting through the grief of losing my husband 10 months after my son died. He is an 11 year old black lab/golden retriever cross who loves everybody. He has to be walked on a lead at all times because of sheep. He is content and easy going. I go away relatively frequently to see my daughter and her family in Germany.
One of the few remaining temperate rain forests in England is 10 minutes walk from my cottage and within another 5 - 10 minutes you can walk onto DArtmoor itself. Totnes is 8 miles away, Dartington 5 miles - there is a frequent bus service - and the coast 17 miles.
The village is very community spirited and Sustainable South Brent works hard for our green plan.

South Brent has an active eco-community - tree planting, hedge laying etc. There are also arts events at the Art House in the village and a very active arts centre in Ashburton with bands etc. The cultural life in Totnes is rich and diverse.

Ideally, someone would be familiar with looking after a dog. Lennon needs two walks a day or one long one (up to 3 hours is fine). I have a small garden - I don't expect you to garden for me, but you would be welcome if you enjoyed it.
I prefer that Lennon is not left on his own for more than 3 hours at a time, but if he needs to be I have friends in the village who will pop in and make sure he's fine.
Lennon is quite sensitive which can lead to anxiety if he is around loud noise or someone with unstable moods. He is very sociable and enjoys people very much. He is trustworthy with other dogs.
