    Description

Hello! I’m Nicola, and together with my husband Henry and our four children, we live in the rolling countryside of Wiltshire, England, between two beautiful market towns. Our family life is full, energetic and outdoorsy. Rafe (5) is at the local school, Hope (3) attends nursery a few mornings a week, and our twin girls, Martha and Vita, have just turned one.

We live on a farm in a lovely house just 5 minutes from the local town, with fast trains to London in under 50 minutes — making this a perfect base to explore England. The area is incredibly picturesque, with wonderful walking, cycling and some excellent local pubs.

We are now accepting applications for our next wonderful au pair to join our family!

We are looking for someone warm, calm and capable, with a genuine love of children and a natural ability to engage them with energy and creativity. You should be proactive, organised, and happy to take initiative in a busy family environment. Common sense and a positive attitude are essential!

For this role, we are ideally looking for someone aged 23+, a confident driver with a clean licence and able to stay for 4–6 months (preferred). A calm, kind and practical personality who enjoys being part of family life. The role will involve around 20–25 hours per week, focused primarily on the children, ensuring their safety, happiness and development through play, routine and support with learning. When the children are at school or nursery, we would love your help with keeping the house running smoothly; light tidying, laundry, cooking simple family meals, and occasional help outdoors.

You will never be responsible for all four children at once. Typically you’ll be with one or two, allowing you to give them proper care and attention. In return, you will have a beautiful double bedroom in your own part of the house, with TV and separate bathroom, all meals included, some weekly pocket money to cover the extra hours, as well as use of a car (subject to licence/insurance).

This is an opportunity to become part of a warm, welcoming family and experience life in the English countryside. We are looking for someone who feels like a natural fit for our family and way of life. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for someone we can truly rely on; someone with strong common sense, attention to detail, and the confidence to step in without needing constant direction. You should be proactive, practical, and happy to get stuck into family life.

Our home is full and lively, and we need your help to keep it that way - calm, ordered, and enjoyable. We ask that you actively contribute to maintaining a tidy, organised environment, rather than adding to the chaos!
