Description
Hi we are based on Uoleva Island, Ha'apai, Tonga. We are a Tongan/ British free spirited and fun loving family and looking for someone or possibly a couple to help us with day to day tasks and improvements of our beautiful island home.
*Help with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and washing.
*An architect or someone who can help draw some plans for a simple but stylish house or something more on a beautiful deserted beach
*A keen gardener - We have lots of raking, clearing and landscaping to do, also we need to put up a fence and would like to grow some veggies.
*A teacher to follow a British/ western curriculum for our 14 yr old daughter she particularly loves to cook and I would love a professional chef who is familiar with limited island supplies and different dietary requirements to share their knowledge with her.
*We are also looking for house sitters for the months of December and January (must be practical, and able to drive a boat/ live on a remote island with knowledge of solar/ water pumps etc)...
We love people of all nationalities provided you are happy to embrace the local culture which is very simple and rustic.
(couple welcome)

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will learn what life is like on a pacific island and learn about the Tongan Polynesian culture. You will live close to or on one of the worlds most beautiful sandy beach's. You can learn to snorkel, fish, cook Tongan food, speak the language and share this beautiful place that we live with all it has to offer. If you're here during the peak season you will have the opportunity to swim with humpback whales which can be seen from the beaches all around the island!

Help
We are looking for people with a variety or at least 1 of the following skills...
A chef/ good cook (we love delicious food and are hoping to educate my 14 year old daughter to become a better cook- and make her more aware of different dietary requirements when dealing with limited ingredients on our remote island). We are happy also to share our local Tongan recipes and unique ways of cooking
A team player who enjoys a simple life and will help where needed with daily tasks such as cleaning, raking, and washing.
An architect or someone who can draw house/ building plans (think beach hut/house).
Someone with experience of motor boats.
A keen gardener to clear some land (a forest!), put up a fence and plant some tasty/ pretty things and in general help us beautify the beach/ garden.
Someone who can help me with updating my website/ social media.
Someone who knows about accounts and is happy to share some knowledge.
Accommodation will be your own 6 man tent that you can stand up in, with a mattress and bedding. You will literally be living on the beach of one of the most beautiful islands in the world.
Food will be provided; cooking and washing up will be shared or you will do your own.
As it is a remote island we feel that this position may be suited to a couple. It is a fantastic opportunity for the right person/ people.

Accommodation
A tent on a remote island paradise with no roads, power or village.

What else ...
Time off can be spent walking around the island, swimming in tropical blue waters, snorkelling, fishing, reading a book, meeting the locals, going to church, drinking Kava, diving, paddle boarding, kayaking, exploring neighbouring islands, sitting round fire, singing etc.
From July- October you get humpback whales which come to the warmer waters of Tonga to breed and give birth. It is one of the few places in the world where you can actually swim with these majestic animals and it is an absolute privilege to do this. My husband and I are a skipper and a guide for this activity so we would hope to be able to take you out!
It is difficult to get a variety of food here so we prefer people who don't have special dietary requirements.
