Description
We are a family with 2 kids (16 and 18 years old). We live in the country in a 1300 acre bush land with 54 husky dogs. In the winter time we own a dogsledding business and in the summer time, we have a small vineyard and Orchard + accommodation. In the spring we do our own maple syrup.
I am Sylvain (48). I study wildlife management and forestery. I work in the summer for the forest fighter departement and in the winter for our dogsledding business.
Caroline (46) is a teacher for the kindergarden kids. She is a very good cook and love to make you taste food with maple syrup from our own trees.
We are a very welcoming family and easy to get along with.

Stay in a good families in nature with animals in a clean and peacefull environnement. We are a french canadien family and would be happy to share our lifestyle.
The people coming here are not working for us but with us so it could be sometime long hour day and other shorter depending on the weather and schedule. We are hard worker people and need people with the same working ethic and want to do things right.
Help
In Summer and fall ,we need help to take care of the animals, help with the maintenance of the vineyard and general outdoor house maintenance. Painting buildings, give food and water to the dogs, take out wood from the bush for winter fire. We try to diversify the work so you can learn new things.

Accommodation
Our guests have a room with two double beds, including a private bathroom at their disposal. It could be share if we have more then one workaway. Our guests rooms are on the commercial part of our house but there is just a door which seperate the commercial part from our private house. Everything is very clean and we make sure that you feel comfortable and like home. People from Workaway are having meals with our family. We like to taste new dish so if you want, you could cook sometimes for us and make us taste traditional food from your country. We always share meals together and like all kind of food (meat, fish, seafood, pasta). We will choose workawayers with the same diet who are open to try new food (deer or bear meat).
What else ...
We like to have people stay for a period of 2 weeks to 1 month. We can provide all transportation, from Ottawa to here (1h1/2) Airport, train station or bus station. We go to the city every week to do grocery so you are welcome to join. If you did not visit Ottawa yet, we can make you visit.

It was my first time doing a workaway and I couldn't have chosen better... Every morning we did very varied tasks, with dogs or helping to clean the house, they always try to make you do different things so as not to get bored!
